In the George Harrison tribute version of " While my guitar gently weeps" with Tom Petty, Prince, Steve Winwood, Dhani Harrison and Jeff Lynne....his voice is just perfection. He is a musical genius...... He still sounded amazing a few years ago. It just seems he is one of the most underrated singers considering all the amazing songs and the creative talent of ELO.

@Smarten up! You're a real live Sherlock Holmes. _Of course_ they do this for money. Why wouldn't they? They are the new sit-com. The new TV show. The old paradigm of TV show entertainment and commercials to pay for it is disappearing. Brad & Lex are on the cutting edge of its replacement, trying to make a buck while they can. Also, you have no idea what they listen to " _after the video_ ", but I have seen them make connections between the songs they react to now and ones they've listened to in the past. They do not forget them. I don't know what they listen to either. And I don't care. I don't know what they eat for dinner every night and my world doesn't end for that lack of knowledge either. However, your passive-aggressive statements and racist comments tell us all we need to know about you. I haven't had a TV in my home for almost 15 years now. My video entertainment is hand-picked by me and Brad & Lex earned one of my spots. If they seek to be interesting to me, I will cease to watch them. It's that simple. If they expand and make a channel that deep dives into a single artist for a live stream, I'll give it a shot. If it sucks, I'll give them the feedback and move on. You need to follow the advice of your moniker.

Jeff Lynne (author, composer, singer) and the technique of "full sound" brilliantly borrowed from classical music of the symphonic and philharmonic type. What is the so-called "full sound" technique? Eliminate any sound void by superimposing the instrumental tracks instead of juxtaposing them. Result for the listener: a pleasant and catchy sensation of being literally enveloped by the music, integrated into it. Lynne used the same technique in most of his compositions. Listen to "Strange Magic", "Evil Woman" et Can't Get It Out Of My Head"; it will convince you. It's the signature sound of Jeff Lynne, an underrecognized master. Thank to you two.

The album this song was taken from is Discovery. The young man on the front is holding an ELO saucer. If you look inside the album cover, the young man is caught with the disc in his hands by mauraders. If you listen closely at the end of the song Don't Bring Me down, you can hear the spaceship being dropped on the floor-Don't Bring Me Down alludes to the young man (Bruce) dropping the spaceship on the "floor.".

Misheard lyric "Don't Bring Me Down" (1979) by ELO 0:24 A common mondegreen in the song is the perception that, following the title line, Lynne shouts "Bruce!" In the liner notes of the ELO compilation Flashback and elsewhere, Lynne has explained that he is singing a made-up word, "Groos", which some have suggested sounds like the German expression "Gruß," meaning "greeting."[8] Lynne has explained that originally he did not realize the meaning of the syllable, and he just used it as a temporary placekeeper to fill a gap in the lyrics, but upon learning the German meaning he decided to leave it in.[8] After the song's release, so many people had misinterpreted the word as "Bruce" that Lynne actually began to sing the word as "Bruce" for fun at live shows.

You mean a US record. Xanadu was number 1 pretty much everywhere except the US, and they've had plenty of number 1s in other countries (this was number 1 in Canada for instance). Rock bands rarely get to number 1 anyway, especially in the US - even Metallica haven't achieved this.
