You are truly one of the best installers in the solar pv business at the moment. Hope to use you one day.

To me is a bit confusing but the way Mark explain is good content on the video I am looking forward to do a course on the PV photo voltaic installation 👍

Hi, I have issues with the consumption, import and export numbers reported by the Givenergy portal. I am thinking this is related to CT clamp connections to the connectors in the gateway unit - in my install - load CT appears to be connected (from grid in) but not PV CT or AC CT so suspect this is causing my issue. Any thoughts from your experience on these installs?

Hi Mark, Really interesting video, thanks. I’ve just started my solar journey and I’m trying to learn as much as I can before I sort out an install. With that in mind, could I ask a couple of clarification questions about this particular instal: Would I be correct in saying that you installed the battery as AC Coupled? It’s my understanding that the GivEnergy OIN has a self contained inverter, so why did you also put a string inverter into the system - it would be really interesting to understand the rational of that decision. Finally, how easy are you finding it to get the DNO G99 approved? Is it regional dependent, or export size? I’m assuming that you can go ahead with the G98 max export of 3.68kW whilst the G99 application is processing and then upgrade the export max restriction when approved, is that correct? Thanks for the help.

Thanks! To answer: Yes AC coupled but the AIO has no DC PV input so you will.always require a PV inverter. It is all in one in the sense of the AC coupled battery system. With G98 nope I wouldn't advise that. You apply and wait to see what the DNO say some connections beyond G98 can be rejected. Unless of course the customer is happy to be limited forever more by a G98. Can take anything from 1 day to 45 days for approval. The new ENA portal is a much easier way atm.

Not sure why AIO choose that configuration, I know that sometimes the batteries can trip the standard RCBO, its rare lately the RCBOs dont like 2 way bi directional current. So I like to fit a standard RCD and a B25 MCB in-line, because RCDs can handle current both directions. 100mA is not allowed of course.

A long shot but: I broke an mc4 connector which was supplied with a solax inverter. Can I just use a regular mc4 connector,or buy a replacement anywhere? Spoken to solax and they are being very unhelpful.
@electrician2476 ай бұрын
Not advised. You need to mate the connectors to the same brand. Some manufacturers will state cross compatibility but it’s not worth the chance tbh. You can buy solax mc4 on midsummer

Whats the price of this nice job .I think its killing the bank Thanks for this video Pro

It’s a big old system so yes cost is reasonable. However payback is pretty decent alongside that.

Great video you just need a mic cover it’s very windy which makes it hard to ear you 🤔👏😎

A lot of peak power given the roof pitch.
@electrician2477 ай бұрын
It will peak at a season high around 7kW which is great with an 8kW export limit. Nice isn’t it
@tonywebb99097 ай бұрын
It's a lovely job, I have an East West array on my house with 10+9 Jinko 430s and the pitch is 35, it does peak too high for about an hour midday, so had to order another battery and might up the size of the hot water cylinder as I'm not allowed to export more than 25amps, here in Ireland. These are first world problems!!

Hello. I have a 20 panel 8kw / AiO / Gateway / EV charger installation project I'd like to discuss with you if interested?
