Our 30 kWh Leaf does about 100 miles per charge and we have not regretted it once. New EV’s will do a lot more miles per charge so if the real world range suits you just smile every time you quietly pass a petrol station and feel sorry for the poor souls who just don’t know what they’re missing.

@@andrewtowell8979 Hi. Got my eyes on some 2011 to 2014 models with 24kwh with around 50k miles more or less. My daily driving if to and from work with one stop on the way will be 20 miles a day. I understand if it had many superfast charges, the range its smaller due to degradation of the battery. I would like to take one on HP and monthly will come up to £150 or so which I spend right now in petrol and road tax with an ICE car. Basically I ll pay 150 a month for 5 years but pay nothing or almost nothing to run it ( got charging at work and supermarkets so I wonder if I can lower from 2nd floor flat a long charging cable :)) to the parking. Will batteries last till 80k or 90k miles ( something I ll achieve in 5 years from the presuming 50k miles I ll get one with)?? Please reply asap :)) Seeing one or two on Wednesday.

Well, actually PSA is making a comeback in the US and it seems like the car will be introduced in the US market since it's a SUV and the only type of cars americans are interested in are SUV's/pickup truck and sports cars. There is a really good chance that you will have it ! This particular car is electric and hasn't been released yet so, i think the petrol ones will be the first.

Seems to be an excellent car all round - and has what few people ever mention, a practical square edged boot with a low sill and a flat load area! Great! It just needs to be a) £18,000 for the entry level b) freely available to buy 'off the shelf' so lots of people will buy it. c) two years old with low mileage and having experienced 'normal' car depreciation - so I can go and have a realistic choice of 'pre-loved' examples. SUV style cars have there place, if you are like me and have back issues, lower cars can be a pain access wise. I know there are other ev advocates who hate SUVs with a passion but for some people there is an actual reason to consider, sometimes range isn't everything, I'd have an ipace eqc or e-tron in a heartbeat if I could afford one, the 2008 I looked at for my size (6'3") wasn't quite suitable knowing the ev would be the same size sort of ruled it out for me. The PSA group could be onto a good affordable sector with their range.

The big problem for me with cars designed to take both EV and combustion power trains is the interior space is compromised, the engine bay is too large for the EV components meaning the cabin is moved back, the boot is smaller than it could be, just compare this with the VW ID3 when you have a go, Golf size with Passat interior space. The battery is also too complicated as it has to fit in the space reserved in the combustion cars for the drive, exhaust, fuel tank etc, not a simple box like you get in a Tesla.
