Of course, the reason for the fake exhaust elements is exactly what you alluded to in the rest of the video! Its a ICE derivitive. Having to design a new bumper would increase costs and therefore, reduce profits.

Don't forget the VW ID7 Tourer. Not a cheap option, but it is an electric estate car... There is also the Astra electric estate, but it is also expensive at it's full RRP. Although I'm guessing the Astra will tumble in value in it's first couple of years, as the ICE version always did....

Great to see more options in the estate market, hard to see what appeal this particular model would have when there are such competitive lease deals right now on the VW ID7 which provides a better proposition in every single way.

Great Review. I love my 308 SW PHEV bought before the full electric version was launched. It gets charged as often as possible. Having come from an SUV I much prefer an Estate. I won't be going for the electric 308 SW because we do motorway commuting. I suspect the winter range could be as low as 150. If only it came with the 73 KWh battery or if there was a Model 3 Estate. Loved the small steering wheel and dashboard. . Loved hat it has a washer jet on the rear camera. Didn't like the spec being a bit mean for the list price.

Im 6'2 and I find most estates far too low to be useful, whereas an SUV is the perfect height for me to put stuff in the boot. We picked up a load of cement yesterday in our Audi E-Tron and the boot level was the perfect height to just slide it in. The last estate we had was a Volvo V50, and i would bang my head on the boot lid trying to use it!

51kWh battery and 100kW peak charging is just not good enough for an estate car, where the use case should be to eat up motorway miles. I’m having to hire a petrol one of these so I can go skiing next year. Eventually I’ll get a (used) Model 3 I think, which will have the efficiency, battery capacity, charge speed and charging infrastructure that I need. A decent estate though is what I actually want

Stellantis still over pricing their cars and using the same for ICE and EV. All the benefits of having an EV are lost in the ways of extra storage and space. Good to see more car shapes becoming available with more options in the categories. Must say I would not want the guillotine option added to the boot!

Real world 200 isn’t enough for a family workhorse needed for holidays/dogs etc. I know there are big discounts on it new, but I doubt they will be more than £20k after 18 months. The right size estate but it’s just too expensive for what it is. At least we now have a few out there (e308/Astra/MG5).
@YorkshireasaurusАй бұрын
The hard reality is that most people don’t drive as many miles as they think they do? Everyone thinks if it doesn’t go at least 500 miles it’s not good enough when in reality 95% of us drive less than 30 miles a day. Yes we very occasionally go on road trips beyond its 200 mile range but we need to manage our expectations and build in a stop there and back.
