1) A red light emits a frequency of 4.62 x 10^14 s^-1. What is the wavelength of this light in nm?
2) Calculate the wavelength of the light emitted by a mercury lamp with a frequency of 6.88 x 10^14 Hz.
3) Calculate the energy of a wave given a frequency of 9.43 x 10^11 Hz.
4) A laser emits pulses of light at 636.0 nm, each having a total energy of 3.8 x 10^-6 J. Calculate the number of photons in each pulse.

Hello! ^_^ For #5, why is the answer 1.22?.. I count 2 as the least # of sig figs when I divided 3.8 by 3.13. I thought the answer would be 1.2 x 10^13. Help pls thank you!

for number 2, I got 4.36*10^21, how did you get 4.36*10^-7?

I know this was a year ago haha, but it's because of your calculator. Instead of putting 3.00 x 10^8. You would use the EE function on your calculator. On mine, you have to do 2nd then EE. The EE is the same thing as "x 10^". So if you were trying to type 3.00 x 10^8 you would instead have on your calculator 3.00E8. First type in 3.00 then click the 2nd button then the EE. Then type in your exponent. Hopefully this makes sense :)
