Well, I got the Neptune 3 Max as my first printer. Took me many attempts to get a good print started other than the test print Buddha. This thing is very quiet and now that I am understanding how to set up and do adjustments getting easier. This thing is a beast so it needs room for the footprint. My issues are due to my lack of knowledge and experience. I am getting very good quality prints out of it now. I'm slowly working up on the size of my prints. At the moment I am printing something with PLA-Wood and it is doing great. Only 2 weeks into printing and I am confident in how it is going to print as I learn more.

My neptune 3 max is trash so far. My z wobble test ( A cylinder with a square base) looks like a lead screw. I am doing everything I can think of to fix it. A couple of more days and I'm sending this bad boy back to Amazon if I can't resolve it. Elegoo support tried to tell me to reduce speeds. Yelp, done that already. I'm not new to the hobby. I do this in real life and as a hobby. I have been subbed for a long ass time. I love your content. 💪🏻

Very interesting series of printers. If I understand correctly, the printhead is the same on all 3 sizes. I realy hope the PCB on the head become available as spare part, so you can build alternative printheads - like high-flow variants with big nozzles, large gear extruder (Bondtech LGX, Trianglelabs TBG...), maybe Revo hotend... As the printhead is only fixed by 3 skrews and only one cable to connect the electric, it allows practicly manual toolchange... Maybe also a vinyl cutter... Also I would like to see the Sonic Pad added to this printer, to add input shaping. While printing faster might not be posible a lot due to the heavy bed, quality might improve further. Also it make it easy to change configs if you use different tools. Practicly the same printer in 3 sizes is quite nice, as any comunity developement could be used on all 3 sizes. F.e. if someone makes a printer.cfg for the pro or plus for the sonic pad (or in general for Klipper), just a few lines to change (size and maybe accelleration) and you have the cfg for the max and vice versa. A bit problematic might be to add an enclosure. At this size, you might get problems with warping even with PLA or PETG, if you have a low ambient temperature (like now in winter). While I am not in cosplay, I do retro computing. There are many usecases for big prints, for example if you want to build emulators looking like the original. For example you might print an Amiga 1000 or 4000 case on such a printer. I even wish for a "Max ultra" with 510 by 510 (420 is not enough to print a keyboard case in one piece).

I’m looking to get into 3d printing almost entirely for making large props and your channel is a huge reason why. What you’ve been able to make is absolutely awesome! I’m strongly considering the neptune 4 max for its large print volume and faster speeds but I’m nervous because it’s brand new and it would be my first printer. I’ve read a fair amount about the 3 max and the 4 max and it sounds like the 4 still has some kinks to be worked out. Should I go with the 3 max for ease due to my lack of printing experience? Or go with the 4 max for its upgraded features and capabilities?

I can see bed slingers becoming obsolete in the +$200 market, manufacurers will have to come up with something to compete with the P1P I just hope it is not another race to the bottom which is what happened after Creality released their initial printers.

I'm so tired of seeing even more Ender 3 clones, but I'm just not sure it's reasonable to expect prebuilt coreXY machines to drop to the $500 range or below, given the complexity of the designs and the parts required. With printers like Voron taking something like 20 hours to assemble, how much is a company like Bambu even paying their employees to assemble these machines? Between the cost of development, parts, and the time necessary to build these machines, I have doubts about sustainability at their current prices, let alone if they were to sell them for even less.
@slappy76
@slappy76 Жыл бұрын
Elegoo has really set the bar with these three Neptune 3 Pro / Plus / Max printers for the hobbyist. If you need speed then Bambu will definitely be the better option for businesses. But since they're first generation models, they are still working out their kinks (cloud issues, bad fans, thermal runaway protection, resonant ringing, etc), I would personally hold off a year or two. Also I would like a slightly larger 300 or 320 cubed plate. Don't get me wrong, I think they are THE company setting the standard for 3D printing for everyone to follow. They have the potential to be the next Apple or Tesla for 3D printing.

Frank, what's the slicer you're using on these new Neptune 3"s? I'm looking at this max unit to ride next to my Ender 5 Plus but need to get a slicer profile setup for it. I use S3D for ages because it works with great my E5+ plus not sure about building a full-on new profile here is one exists on another slicer that works. Thx!

Frank, I have a CR10proV2 that's giving me a problem I can't find a solution to. Is there somewhere you go for a circumstance like that. It's giving me a -15 degree nozzle temp reading and when I try to adjust it, it tells me there's a thermistor issue. I've replaces the hot end, the thermistor twice, and the mainboard. Same problem. I've connected the thermistor straight to the mainboard, no help.. Thoughts? Going to buy one of these asap though!
