Elek test is an in vitro test to know the toxigenicity of the strains of Corynebacterium diphtheriae.
Or in other words its used to determine whether a strain of Corynebacterium diphtheriae is causing the disease or not.
The test involves immunodiffusion.... Which ultimately results in immunoprecipitation....,

We’ll presented , it would be more informative if u had mentioned about diff types of interaction by ppt band of diff strains eg. cross over bands of unrelated strain , spur formation for partially related strain and fusion of bands for identical strains of C.diphtheriae😊
