As adorable and funny as this video was, it gives us a stark reminder of the terror and trauma baby Elephants experience when they are separated (stolen from) from their mothers. Whether it be to be sold to the tourist industry, caught in a poacher's snare or as a witness their mothers being killed by humans. I cannot begin to imagine how much they scream during the "training" hell they are forced through so they can entertain humans on their holidays. Every person who rides an elephant should be made to watch and listen to that first. Baby Pyi Mai's terror lasted a few seconds before she was safe. Imagine what Bunma sounded like as a baby when she was taught to ride a bicycle so people could take funny holiday snaps.

Thank you thank you, I don't know if people don't realize or if they just don't care, but if you take their amazing animals from there mother's, they are seriously traumatized just like a child would be. The part that really hurts, most of these people just don't care. It sucks. Thank you so much to save the elephant's.

Yeah, she thought her mother disappeared and it scared her. But her mother only walked down there to that fence because she saw/smelled some particular tasty leaves on a bush, bless her. It was the bush right on other side of that fence, you can see her reaching her trunk over for it right before her baby screamed

The startled baby let's out a cry of alarm and Mum swings around immediately to come to her baby's aid. So does Aunty, who was enjoying her snack. Without hesitation they both ran to protect the calf. It just shows, that even though they have been captive elephants, often forced to perform unnatural 'tricks', they don't lose their natural instincts. They are incredible and totally amazing. ❤🐘

@@serenitysmith352 Pyi Mai hasn't had any bad experiences at the hands of man or in the Wild; she was only a few months old when she arrived with her mother at ENP. She didn't see her mother or nanny, became fearful or concerned about that, immediately let them know, and they came running. They were still listening to her play while they ate a little, so they were still tending her by ear, but she didn't know that. She needs to know they are tending her always at this stage of her life, so now all is well.

But when he got really worked up, his mother had gone way to the other side of the area. Seeing her run back so quickly to her baby's distress call, elephants are such loving mothers

She suddenly realised she was alone. It happened to baby Khanyisa at HERD too. Mambo was supposed to be "babysitting" her but he wandered off. When she realised she was alone she screamed and the whole herd came running to protect her.

The sweet baby.elephant was having so much fun until she saw she was alone and then got scared and then I think she wasn’t too happy at the beginning fo walking away from her and leaving her there alone (which I can’t blame the little elephant).
