@@ElevateYourselfOfficial I have a question about setters that I would like answered, if possible. Normally, setters stand so that their bodies are facing the left hand side of the court when they are about to set a spiker. Standing like that makes it easier for left handed setters to hit on the second touch rather than right handed setters. Because of this, I have heard that coaches tend to like left handed setters more. I understand how it might be easier since I am left handed. So my question is, to rectify this problem, why don’t right handed setters face the opposite direction when setting to make it easier for them to hit on the second touch? Is it because sanding whilst facing the left hand side of the court makes it easier for them to set to their outside hitters?

I think they keep missing serves because both teams are at the point where their normal serves will get picked up a lot, and so now that they're playing against each other they're trying to hit harder and in tougher spots. So for example Oikawa is known for his accuracy in combination with his power, but he can take it that step higher power wise in exchange for control. So he is getting a bunch of aces but missing more than last time.

9:35 Coach's explanation about Mad Dog, who is predetermining his spikes, and Oikawa who is a very skilled setter, is to me, a parallel resemblance to Hinata and Kageyama's dynamic back when they were just starting to play together. Mad Dog is even being a really good decoy and all

The (3rd) Seijoh match is easily one of my personal favorites for a lot of reasons! Kyoutani / Mad Dog is a fun character dynamic to throw into Seijoh because they’re all so calm and collected and he’s so so hot headed. But he’s genuinely really interesting and I can’t wait for you to learn more about him. Yamaguchi!! Notice the difference between the 2 last times Yamaguchi has been subbed in - in the 2nd Seijoh match, he was Terrified. In the Wakunan match, he was equally terrified, but after his second serve, he seems to make a decision. And now, this one - he’s basically /asking/ for the chance to go in to the point that Ukai can sense it and is (jokingly) tired of it. His mindset has changed and well, these next few episodes are nuts.

A little later he joined the boys to practice a little more and when they asked if he is going to set he said that "no, I am going to hit". This is basically the root of them now doing the 6/2. Hey coach just wanted to remind you that there is some after credits on episode 25 just so you don't forget. Love watching the reactions weekly!

We can see your excitement in your reactions! It feels so good seeing someone enjoy Haikyuu as much as yourself. Hope you enjoy the ride and see all the boys growing!

You can see since previous episode that Oikawa has been warming up to get that service ace. This explains why he keep missing 7:55, 16:34 and his accuracy increases everytime he serves 09:00. I respect his gut to take the risk despite close set point in the first set, so he can fully control it by the second set

It was too bad that the translation for Sawamura's comment about this was "I feel like WE'RE getting more in sync". 「だんだん照準合わせてきてる気がする」is more like "I feel like (HE'S) gradually getting (his) aim adjusted", meaning he's having a bad feeling that Oikawa's serves are improving aim-wise.

Just a piece of info... Mad dog = kyouken Kyouken is the initials of Kyoutani Kentaro which is his full name. It is similar to Ushiwaka only here Kyoken means mad dog.

Props to coach for improving his editing skills! The subtitles on the bottom are only the text rather than a cut-out of the bottom of the episode! 👏👏👏 he's growing so fast 😭

Something I literally just noticed, both Asahi and iwaizumi both learned jump serves in the second season, and they are both the aces, of the setters who were originally able to jump serve. Kinda a neat parallel

love it when coach ties in the real life volleyball into his reactions, it gives everyone an even higher level of appreciation for the quality of these videos, keep it up C Donny!

The joy of seeing your reactions coach is that they are genuine and so insightful (because of your experience as both an animator and volleyball player...such a perfect combo for this series)! We would never dare to spoil the best or more exciting moments 👊🏽👍🏽

Yes!! I really really appreciate and love your reactions. I hated volleyball when I was a teenager because I could never understand it and it was always too complicated for me. However, after watching Haikyuu, I fell in love with it. Rewatching it with you has helped me truly appreciate the sport and understand its beautiful complexity. Your passion for and understanding of the sport makes me want to turn back time and see volleyball from a different perspective. Who knows? Maybe I'll pick it up for fun!

The things Coach Donny says... I always smile to myself because the fact that many offhanded comments of his later become relevant in haikyuu are a testament to 1. how good of a coach he is, and 2. how inspiring yet realistic haikyuu is

I commented this from last weeks episode: from the way Mad Dog approached, it sure looked as though he was running an illegal back court attack. But he’s in the front row as Iwaizumi is serving. And because I’m a nerd, I think Seijoh’s rotation for that point looked like this: (1) Iwaizumi (O/WS) - serving (2) Kindaichi (M) (3) Mad Dog(WS) (4) Makki (O/WS) - can see him block with Kindaichi (5) ?Libero name? (6) Oikawa (S) so definitely not illegal, but very aggressive approach??

Hey coach, I don't usually comment but I just wanted to thank you! I've been a fan of haikyuu since 2019, picked up the manga (after season 4) and finished it in a week, just recently. Hearing your commentary and analysis brings a whole new depth to the entire experience, and I'm just glad to be 'reliving' these memories, all while seeing you enjoy something I'm so passionate about. Where I'm from, it's hard to get the opportunity to play volleyball (even casually), but watching your content really makes me wanna learn and play. Up until now I never would've thought that I would want to play volleyball so badly but here we are ahah, so thank you!
