Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge Dr. Ellie. I've been doing your mouthcare routine and using your xylitol mints for almost 9 months now and my mouth has never felt better. I went to my dentist at 6 months and my recession was improving and the hygienst complimented me on my teeth for how clean they were. I tell everyone about you when a discussion comes up about oral health. You are awesome!

There are some issues if you still have bad breath after good oral hygiene: 1. GERD/ ACID REFLUX . May it be due to your stomach. Consult with a gastroenterologist. 2. Liver Issue. 3. Postnasal Drip. When you have Allergy problems or Allergic rhinitis, excessive mucus is produced, which also causes Nasal odor.Also checked for blocked nose. 4. Dirty tongue. 5. Dry Mouth. 6. Hiatus Hernia/H.Pylori. 7. Lack of flossing. 8. Tonsil issue or Tonsil stones. 9.Sinusitis or sinus issue

DR ELLIEEEEE!!!! What would I do without you? I am still in shock about not having any cavities when I went to the dentist this week. DR ELLIEEEE I am talking about a mouth that has a history of gum disease, missing every molar except one in the back on each side of my mouth, and a mouth full of fillings. And using this system since the summertime my mouth is healthy! You will be mad at me Dr Ellie because I do floss. Sorry, I have to floss. I have been using a xylitol dental floss and I take a multivitamin. But I use everything else you recommend. Thank you DR ELLIE!!!!!!

I’d add that parasites and candida are often underlying causes of bad breath. Few people bother to deworm these days. Consider trying ginger tea with a pinch of clove, and turpentine can also work wonders.

Summary to prevent bad breath: * A healthy diet accelerates the flourishing of good bacteria. * Eat pineapple, papaya and apple before each meal (= good enzymes to prevent acid reflux = bad breath). * Eat salad, leafy greens, beets, watermelon, and other watery vegetables (= excellent hydration and improves saliva quality). * A little bit of onions, garlic and mushrooms with each meal. Fry a batch in butter and store in the fridge. This boosts the immune system and 'seeds' the saliva. * Probiotics. * Good live yogurt, preferably L. reuteri. * Fermented vegetables. * End each meal with some xylitol to feed good bacteria, and to stimulate a flow of alkaline saliva = good for bacteria. * Extend the time between between meals when you are not eating or drinking.

Hello Dr Ellie, you are amazing! I have been on your system for over 18 months, along with the carnivore diet. Here's all the good things that have happened; my teeth are whiter, I wake up with terrific breath, and my mouth feels squeaky clean, continually! I can even eat a pepperoni stick and in a half hour, you cannot tell. I use everything you recommend, even the fancy toothbrushes and toothbrush sanitizer. I have one issue happening, however, which I think you can help me figure out. Even though my teeth are now whiter on the outside, I have more stains on the inside of my teeth. I give plenty of time and attention to brushing the inside though. Also, not only has my one black dot that I started your program with, not disappeared, but many, many more black dots have appeared! I don't eat sugar or carbs but I do still drink one mug of green tea in the morning. Then, after my 11 am breakfast, I have an iced mocha. I brush my teeth afterwards with your system. I have a 2nd meal in the evening and before bed, brush my teeth for the 2nd time. I do NOT sip on anything throughout the day. When I drink water, I drink a full glass then take a Zellie’s mint or gum. I cannot understand why I’m getting more inside staining and more black dots. Therefore, I did some troubleshooting and here's what I found. When I wake up in the morning, the Ph strip shows high acidic 5.5. After my purely carnivore breakfast, the Ph strip shows high alkaline, 8.0. After eating, I brush with your system, which takes me down to about 6.6 alkaline. Roughly 30 min after brushing, I'm down to 5.5 acidic. If I drink my wonderful well water, the Ph strip goes up to 6.6 alkaline. After Zellie’s gum or mint, I’m 6.8. Then I gradually go down to 5.5 until I put something else carnivore in my mouth. Could it be that I simply have acidic biology and, therefore, by not putting anything in my mouth for many hours, my saliva is too acidic, for too long and this is what’s making the black dots? Perhaps for me, a healthy remedy would be to go back to sipping our well water throughout the day like I was before I found your system, to keep my mouth alkaline more of the time, knowing that it will spend all night, highly acidic? What can I do to get rid of my former black dot and all these new ones?!!! Thank you for any suggestions you may have.

I’ve been intrigued by your channel in general and when I saw this video I hoped my prayers would be answered. It’s been quite a few years now that I’ve had this problem and no health professional has been able to help me. I had one of my upper rearmost molars extracted to no effect. I quit smoking, drinking, etc. I’m eating cleaner than I have in my entire life. Most recent specialist suggested I have evidence of acid reflux and prescribed me pantoprazole. They suggested if it doesn’t work that I undergo a stomach scope. It doesn’t appear to be working. I’m at my wits end as I feel I’ve become a social leper. No one will tell me but I can sense by their reactions. It’s painful to live this way when I’m a person who takes pride in my hygiene and appearance but others make assumptions about my cleanliness. I’m already doing much of the suggestions you’ve made and will try the rest but I have to admit that at this point I don’t believe it will ever be resolved by anything less than some drastic and costly procedure. As an aside, a friend read a book by a physician suggesting that for my blood type (A+), it’s best to avoid meat all together for a multitude of reasons including those discussed. Not sure if you can comment on that but if there is ANYTHING else I can do please help. I feel this has affected my mental health to a grave degree and I’ll need therapy just to feel like I can date again.

Xylitol comes in xylitol mints, gum, and 100% xylitol granules/crystals. You can get the last kind at all kinds of health food stores and other places, and you may be able to find it in the grocery store's baking aisle too. Don't bother with any xylitol toothpastes or mouthwashes; Dr. Ellie doesn't recommend any of those because they don't have enough xylitol in them to do anything.

"Mouth resting" is also good for your gut as well. I have been on a low FODMAP diet for a month, 3 square meals a day....3 weeks of anti biotic's after I was bitten by an insect leading to a bacterial infection. I eat too many high fiber foods and fermentations that lead to sibo and sifo. I was on your system for three weeks and realized the xylitol was messing with my gut as well. I bought crystal form of pure xylitol crystals a few weeks back and started using a 1/4 tsp. dissolving it in mouth for 30-60 sec. spitting it out. Your mints seem better but once I'm done with the crystals I'll just chew the mints and spit out. My big issue is my tonsils. I was told to gargle the throat with CloSys to help. What is you opinion Dr. Ellie. I'm honestly considering removal. I'm done dealing with them in my late 50's. Garlic and onion and other sulfurous foods make it worse. 🤷‍♀️

Hi Ellie. Thank you for your video. This is not a problem I suffer with a lot, but when I do I'm confident a big culprit is the face mask I'm wearing at work which dries out my mouth. Tartar build-up and staining are my primary concern with me starting a customer-facing role within the next few months. I am going to start using your system and follow some of the tips you've given here. I've had a large amalgam filling for twenty years that in a way I hope fails, even by implementing your system, so that it can be removed and replaced with composite/gold/implant. The amalgam has stained the outer parts of the remaining tooth structure - would there be a way of removing this other than by using hydrogen peroxide through tooth whitening? Would tooth whitening be something you recommend in this instance due to it being restricted to one particular tooth?

I cannot afford a dental exam, x-rays & cleanings. I have not been to a dentist for years & years now. I have cavities in my back teeth that are not very big, but do not want them turning into the size of vegetable peas either. 1. Should one still scrape their tongue while using your mouth care system? 2. How can your mouth care system prevent bleeding | pockets not flossing? 3. How does your system keep teeth so clean that you have not had a professional dental cleaning for decades? I am prone to bleeding gums. I remember you saying something about flossing in another video about it pushing bacteria up under the gums. Also, I read comments where someone was using this system of yours while they spoke about Weston A Price, DDS having a patient with 42 cavities in 24 teeth that he healed for that patient using his nutrition guidelines. I have considered doing both. Currently I am using MOST of your system. Can you fill me in a little bit more in clear & concise terms about the aforementioned, please. I would really appreciate it. It's best to get on the system and not go to any more dentist's appointments for at least 3-6 months (6 months is better) to see how much improvement you can get in that time. So what happened - did you end up having the deep cleaning the next week after all or not?

Dr ellie i follow the mouth care system except the closys and the Act part. Would that be a problem?
@SunrayStar
@SunrayStar Ай бұрын
That is a problem. Dr. Ellie recommends that none of the elements of her system be left out or substituted, or the system may not work for you. The Closys is needed to raise the mouth pH (among other things) before brushing, so that you won't be brushing acid-softened teeth. And you would never want to end the routine with Listerine, which would leave the teeth in a very acidic state. ACT should be used after Listerine to do away with Listerine's acidity; but both are needed, because the low acidity left by Listerine helps ACT to work better.

Hi, a question about xylitol please. Is it ok if I buy a Kg of bulky xylitol powder, dissolve half a tea spoon in water like normal sugar, and drink it at the end of each meal to have the same benefits for oral health? Thanks in advance for your answer!
@dr.elliephillips

Granular xylitol works - but you put it directly into your mouth. 1/5th of a teaspoon is about the right amount x5 daily. DON'T dissolve it in water - because you will disable its effect and lose the benefits.

And also, do you know which form of garlic your mother usually ate - fresh cloves of garlic that were diced or minced and then cooked, or the processed kind that comes from the grocery in a jar, already all mashed up and ready to use? I have noticed on several different people who used that jarred kind, that they would positively reek after eating that type (for a whole day!), but breath odor does not normally seem to be a big issue when people eat unprocessed fresh garlic from cloves. I believe that jarred type must be ruined by the processing, and the obnoxious smell from it comes up from the stomach, not just from the mouth.

Start with xylitol - in the routine that I recommend. A couple of Zellie's mints (cool mint is great) at the end of every meal. THEN...they key is to do "mouth resting" - when you do not eat or drink anything for 1-2 hours. Also consider a xylitol nasal spray (Xlear makes a good one) and just puff a couple of puffs up your nose - sniff gently and then blow your nose and feel how clean and nice that makes your nose feel. Do this xylitol routine a few times a day and at the very end of the day before sleeping. it will FEED the good bacteria in your mouth. DrEllie.com

I have taught and seen the benefits of my system for over 50 years. I teach my grandkids this same program - 8 teenagers with completely perfect teeth - and no need for dental cleanings. There is no other purpose for me doing a video.... I know of no other way to help people avoid unnecessary dental treatments. Believe me - studying home care is not a big money maker - especially when you are have a double dental specialty and could "make in a day dentures".....or do "in office whitening"...."veneers and mouth makeovers" etc...

The gold mouthwash has helped me and the old school crest. I'm kind of 50 50 on weather the act plays much of a role but it's pretty cheap and it also pretty pleasant after using the gold so I think I'll stick with it. I don't think that my teeth have really repaired at all but it has postponed any further damage for sure. Get a set of stainless traditional dental tools as well, use them very lightly in areas you want to look better. One thing I will say is some very renowned and accepted people have crooked teeth so it's not vital to have good looking teeth just a healthy mouth.

@@Bawkr The problem with Listerine is that it is acidic with a pH of 4.2 which will corrode your teeth and leave an acidic environment - not the best for mouth health. The ACT works in synergy - to benefit your teeth, and it works BEST in a pH of 4.2 which is why these two rinses should be used one after the other.
