I don't know if this is a KZbin issue but the audio and this doesn't sound very good. It was crackling and popping and like there was static in a lot of parts.

Nice catch. Good ear! This is an artifact of a USB issue I'm currently dealing with on Mac OS. It's a part of the original source audio, so there isn't much that can be done. Hopefully the information in the video is still helpful!

@@AudioUniversity I currently have no audio interface because in the middle of recording the interface I had just died on me and then 10 minutes later the headphones also died on me as well. I've also noticed a lot of noise with USB cables and loads of lag and latency. Is thunderbolt much quieter?

Yep, I "invented" that for myself and didn"t even know it was called minus mix

Use a Soundcraft UI24R to easily route your situation. As an added bonus you can set automatic level adjustments for the participants to minimize your mixing. It automatically focuses your attention to the person speaking.

If your mixer has separate sub group outputs, you can send the local mics to the sub group and return the sub out to the zoom pc. Then mix the sub group into the main mix where it gets joined with the zoom output.

On Linux with Pipewire this kind of routing is very easy to do.

Great video and you made a complex issue much easier to understand. Is there any chance you could do a similar video using a USB input on the board? (like on a Mackie ProFX board?) I have to run a hybrid meeting and the echo is confusing me.

HOLY CATS! That was complex. My question regards using a mixer as my interface. Currently I use a Presonus 32SX board for recording, and live FOH. I rehearse with my band using JamKazam. I currently use my mixer for all my mic inputs (14) and sen my L/R mains to my Presonus Studio 24C. I'd like to use my mixer only to reduce latency, but JamKazam wants me to configure individual inputs for my audio. It also only allows 12 maximum inputs to be selected. Do I just continue using the interface and call it a day, or can i use the mixer only?

According to the specs, you should be able to use your mixer as a USB interface. Make sure you have the correct drivers. You may need to set up "submixes" or "groups" of instruments in order to get them down to 12 channels.

Can't wrap my head around this: If you're using speakers for the remote end from Zoom or what ever software, isn't the mic you're speaking to going to pickup that audio as well resulting in the same exact feedback issue?
@AudioUniversity9 ай бұрын
In this case, a technology called AEC cancels the echo.
@MrAlexDavid9 ай бұрын
@@AudioUniversity Yeah I'm familiar with AEC from DSP's like Biamp etc. Could be my English but you make it sound like this will work without AEC (in the beginning of the video you mention using speakers)
