I learned from Len Cardinale ...he was a good friend and had me shooting at a target 5 feet from me... it seemed like forever, before I could run the target out and actually aim at a target, being new to archery back then I just wanted to shoot down the lane. He made sure I had the mechanics down first. This is great advice.

One of the best videos ever. Started doing it with my eyes closed and instantly felt how different my shot execution felt. More consistent on the anchor point and nose touching the string and the release was great, also let me concentrate on my breathing. Did notice I have to open my stance to about 30 degrees to the target to have the shot be around the center. Has me wonder if that's normal or if there is something wrong with my setup.

There are many ways to make a clean release. You use push pull, Jesse Broadwater uses a relax hand release and has won pretty much everything. And then there’s command release where many successful pro archers basically hit a trigger on command to fire the release via thumb or index triggers.

Ok as a target/field shooter I gotta say a couple things but what I will say is that from a textbook point of view you have said good things. This kind of baling can possibly induce target panic into some people because you take away the one thing we all do ... We are always aiming at a target of some kind and so it's probably also very important to keep a close distance with an indoor 3 spot or heck even an animal target face because that likely applies to this audience a bit more. By this method, you prove to your brain you can break a nice shot whilst aiming in and around the middle. Anyone can make good shots when they have "nothing to hit" but that isn't to say the blank method isn't good, I watched a close friend of mine turn archery around after a couple months of it. You can also anticipate a shot and still have a rear and forward direction,

The only constructive criticism I can give with this video is to have the target elevated so your bow arm is basically 'level' during the shot sequence instead of having to lower it to ensure the arrow hits the target. This will help with strengthening the shoulder/arm muscles as well as enhance the ability of 'locking' the shoulder ball into the socket to achieve more bone-on-bone support in the bow arm. Great video MFJJ.
@BogdanGwardiak2 ай бұрын
When your right hand travel after release as is it shown in video that's means your release is not correct. You hold on your hand about 10lbs maybe a little bit more but movement of your hand shows that you apply a lot of power on this hand.

So I get the point of this exercise but there are some serious safety concerns here that should have been addressed ie that you have a designated area and that you know that nobody's going to enter that designated area when you're closing your eyes before you releasing an arrow
