Stone is catching up. Both are deserving, but my vote goes for Stone. Huppert practically reprised a portion of her role in The Piano Teacher

'La La Land' was corny repurposed TCM films with a tired soundtrack and a very mannered performance, as usual, from Ryan Gosling. Stone is fab but will never grow up to be the nuanced actor Isabelle Huppert is.

Sadly I think she's going to lose to Emma tonight, but the goodwill she amassed this season in Hollywood gives me hope that she will have another shot at the gold somewhere down the line. Maybe in the supporting category.

it's hard to compete with Emma Stone in La la land, that film has much more enthusiasm among voters, plus, but i think if there is any reveal in number of votes, i Bet isabelle get 2nd, which is still an extraordinary for a foreign language performance
