Today I walk you through a day in the life of my parrots! This is everything they do from the moment I get home from school to the moment they go to bed. They’re usually out for at least 4-5 hours. If you’re a high school student or anyone else preparing to get a bird, keep in mind this is how much time you’ll have to spend with them.

Not really. Every bird should have a mate that is the same species. Here in germany you can't really buy one budgie. It's bad for them even if they have other bird friends. But they do have great cages though

I read that parrots are dangerous and their bite is 5x less bad than a pit bull bite, I heard they can bite off your finger and that they scream at night but it seems that these ones are well trained and loving, and they’re so cute!! You’re an amazing mom to them :) obviously, you care about them with all your heart

This is amazing. You look like you have such a lovely life with your birds. They have such big cages and they seem like they have such a nice setup. I really admire you taking care of them like that. Do you happen to have any tips on how to develop more confidence in your bird. Mine is scared of everything, including tissues which I have to use pretty often with her. She is such a poopy poo. My mom hates it but I love her so much. She also takes a while in trying new foods. I try to be patient but that's never been my strong suit and I just want her to be healthier. She is a quaker parrot and thus more prone to fatty liver disease. She was on a seed diet when I got her but I have made great progress in switching her to a healthy pelleted diet. But the problem still stands. She takes a second to eat any veggies and she isn't a real fan of fruits. Sometimes I can't get anything more than a few nibbles out of her. Might I add that she also doesn't play with any of her toys. She's too scared or disinterested with them./ I have plenty in her cage and a large variety but she doesn't touch them at all X(.We got her about two months ago by the way. Maybe I am expecting too much out of her. How long have you had your birds?

Thank you so much! 2 months is not a very long time- I’ve had Bluebell for 6 years, Ducky for 4, Kermit for 2.5 and Pearl for almost 2 years. I would suggest target training to desensitize her to new objects. Teach her to touch a stick, then get her to follow it. Always reward her with treats. Once she’s target trained you can get her to move closer and closer to the new object. To get her to eat veggies, eat them yourself and act like you really enjoy them. Birds are flock animals and will follow their flock, so she might be more interested in veggies if you’re eating them in front of her. Getting her to eat pellets is a great start if she was on an all-seed diet. For getting her to play with toys, try some different types if she isn’t interested in the ones she has. You can also try playing with them yourself and acting very excited about them. Keep in mind that this takes time.Thank you for being so dedicated to her care, I know owning birds isn’t easy but it’s so worth it when they finally eat veggies or play with toys for the first time.

It took almost a year for my budgie to start to eat vegetables. I would put out a tablespoon of shreaded lettuces. I put it on a Shiney plate. PERSISTENCE pays off!

Your birds adore u and so are easily trained . Budgies are so underrated I’m from Australia and know how smart budgies are my nans budgie spoke 70 different words Australian and Italian . I know u don’t have any cockatoos but I find it funny that heaps of Americans do becos hardly anybody in Australia would have a cockatoo as a pet .
