I've seen dozens of concepts. I'll believe all of this when they start showing up in neighborhoods and complying with state and local building restrictions. The greatest obstacle for most of the "off grid" homes is sewage and gray water handling and disposal. I had plans to build one on a remote lake in Michigan, but the building inspector and I could find no way to comply with environmental restrictions without massive expense and damage to the topography. On top of that, the State has minimal sq foot restrictions for lakefront living. Why the hell would they require a larger footprint if its not necessary. So the State ends up acting like heavy handed HOA, mandating owners to comply with past generational understanding and expectations of residential structures.

@@deniborraccini5801 Years ago my friend bought some property with a shack/large deck on edge of a pond which he renovated to be livable. Later he added a covered walkway to a large bathroom and hot tub. Couple years later he built a large bedroom…all surrounding a courtyard connected to pond deck. He built and paid as he had the money. It was off grid but power had been run to the fishing deck by previous owner and I’m not sure it would have been all up to code but in the woods we go by a don’t ask, don’t tell strategy. This was years before the tiny house craze. Another friend bought a tiny home but code people caught up and quickly had the home removed.

This is a good idea for people who are single, and want to live a minimal life style of living, does not mind livng in small space. This are like living in mobile homes, rv's. Tools, off season clothing, footwear, supplies, maintanance cleaing prods. etc. will need a home as well. If you are someone that does not want or have people visiting you(personally coming from a big family and friend gatherngs, it does not work for space, saving more energy, being off grind and climate weather changes even harsh, dangerous weather is helpful, for sure). everyone is different and has differnt needs, one thing is for sure having land to full time, your own land, not renting/leasing land----people still need the space to put the home without being charged high rents/leasing. gov't says they want people save on energy and cut cost until they see people getting off grind-----THEY CANNOT CONTROL HOW MUCH YOU USE AND THEIR CRONIES DO NOT MAKE MONEY. IT'S IMPORTANT THAT PEOPLE UNDERSTAND ONE MUST OWN LAND TOTALLY OUT RIGHT THAT CAN BE NOT ONLY PASSED DOWN BUT, IT'S YOURS AND YOU CONTROL IT, EVEN THOUGH THERE ARE ZONING LAWS IN EVERY STATE, COUNTY, CITY, THE LAND IS STILL OWNED BY YOU AND NOT RENTED WHERE THE OWNER CAN RAISE THE RENT STILL OR DECIIDE TO NOT RENT/LEASE TO YOU ANY MORE. Tesla does not make these or plan to. Boxable is a startup in Las Vegas which sold one to Musk in Texas, which explains the references to Boxable in this video. The Casita is a model made by Boxable you can get on the waiting list for. Images here of tiny homes with Teslas logo on them are fabricated. Although this is a cool idea and may come true someday, beware of a guy with a british accent using words 'sustainable' etc to convince you of a product thats on the market, it is not.

So many states are banning these homes. Many states also ban office I'd living. You are required by law to hook to the local electric company. Nobody wants tiny or moveable homes near them as there's a bias against People living in them.

If they build them to HUD Code (like mobile homes) they can't be banned outright. What is banned are tiny homes that aren't built to any code. But it's not because of their size, it's because they aren't to code. Big houses that aren't to code are equally banned.

"1" simply because of price and sustainability. You can't go wrong. Ultimately, affordability, and all the needs making these spaces quick to install bouness safety and of other needed circumstances to allow even the poor to live in confidence and safery needed to call home. I give this home by Tesla an incredible Thumbs up. Nice Job Tesla. Many will live in style and safety. Without the fear of affordability housing stress free.

The big problem is nobody's talking about which is the most expensive and a long-term destruction of life is where do you parke, the home, the lots to park it, are too expensive and costly and some of the lot owners are forcing you to buy insurance and other costs and which they increased every year and out of your ability to support this is the solution should be before the building and nobody had that solution because everybody is after money I love the Tesla homes and I will buy one anytime but the problem is where can I park it with no cost

If the USA is the same as UK law you can park them on your property,as they are mobile,and don’t need planning approval.James
