From 1976 to this day ELO (Jeff Lynne) has been the best live band i have ever seen and i have seen lots and lots of concerts from legendary bands. I saw ELO in 1976, 1978, 1981, 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019. I feel very fortunate. I will see them again in 2024.

Die Jugend heute tut mir richtig leid, dass sie nicht erfahren können, was wirklich gute Musik ist, die gute Laune schafft. Today, there is nothing and no one who could pull something like that off. Nothing brings back the 70s/80s, which brought a lot of good music; ELO is still the absolute exception, because they always managed to make cheerful music, no matter what the lyrics were. Nowadays you hear more cat music and whining that even ends up in the charts. I feel really sorry for young people today that they can't experience what really good music is that creates a good mood.

Yeah man. Its crazy to see everyone at a concert with their phones out, taking crappy video recordings. Especially when we are watching it on a professional recording. Do they not understand that it's being filmed already, no need to spend the whole show trying to film it on your phone when it's being filmed anyway! It's just laughable. I cant take those people seriously. It would really annoying me if I was the one performing and I looked out and just saw a crowd of zombies waving their phones above their heads instead of enjoying the show!

We went to Jeff Lynne's concert tonight. No one sat down, everyone sang to every song and even dance in open areas. If 5heir goodbye tour comes to town or near you- it is a must, I repeat, MUST SEE! He's only ever wrote one song and then split it into several different songs but if you were to join them all together they would sound like the same song, same chords, same note runs and same rhythm, it's just a format. My favourite ever song, when Wembley or Bust came out I listened to it 24/7 before seeing him in Dublin, my wife was pregnant with my son at the time, my son, Casey, who is now 6 and autistic non verbal recently started playing Evil Woman Wembley version on his tablet every day and watching the entire video with a smile on his face. There were tears in my eyes as I realised it was a connection I had with my son, he sat on my lap and listened to 3 songs back to back then which had never happened before. Saw him Tuesday night in Phoenix. Best show I've ever seen. I cried at the end of Mr. Blue Sky. ELO has been such a huge part of my life (Out of the Blue was the first album I bought in 1978 at the age of 9). I'm sure that Jeff Lynne will continue writing, performing and producing other artists, but it's the end of an era.

@@athenasblueprint , Jeff was a huge Beatles fan and friends with George. Jeff never hid the influence. ELO became famous before Queen, no ripoff there. But yes, ELO got lots of hate, I think over their huge success, and partly for being too "poppy".

You should have gone to see the mighty Slade. They were probably the best live band to ever grace a stage. Now don't get me wrong i love ELO's music(will be seeing them 15th Oct at Leeds Arena '18), and Jeff Lynne is without doubt an exceptionally talented musician/songwriter/producer and came up with the goods time and time again, and also puts on a great show, but(there's always a but), having already seen many many of the biggest bands out there 'Live', still to this day i have not seen any to better Slade for stagecraft. From the moment the lights went down it was a full on onslaught of power and energy, a catalogue of smash hits from start to finish played at a volume the like i've never witnessed at any other gigs. It was their call to the fans to 'Cum On 'FEEL' The Noize' and feel it you did. The bands whole career was built on their 'Live' shows and Noddy Holder's vocals were the loudest most earsplitting of any rock outfit, How i miss them.

Saw this band in concert February 6, 1976 at Lane County Fair Grounds, Eugene, OR. Great concert, these guys rocked the house and the lazer show was tops. Met my future wife April 2nd 1976 and this was the first song we danced to together. ELO has been a big part of my life for over 46 years. Keep Rockin!
