I cried this morning while listening to this. I was in bed and decided to flash back to when i was 18 years old. This song and all he made at that time, controlled my thoughts and emotions. Elton is a genius song writer and singer. Thanks for having his songs available for me, a 65 year old man.

I was 10. Music was beautiful in the 60s and 70s. Im almost 60 but i wouldnt trade my youth in the 60s and 70s for anything. America had a ton of problems, vietnam, racism etc. but technology has taken human connection and it continues to chip away at it.

I was 7 at the time. I know this song so well, but just today I saw this video. 50 years later. I love Elton John's early albums, and I am old enough to have had his early 1970s singles bought for me as a child, but I have to say that I disagree about modern music. It is easy to fall into the trap of hearing what is played on the mainstream media, and presume that all modern music is awful. There are many excellent singer-songwriters and bands around. Admittedly, you have to do a lot of searching, or follow recommendations, but that does not mean that the talent is not out there.
