Because he refused to sing vibrato without wobbling his mouth... In all seriousness though he is fantastic. Just a little surprised none of his vocal coaches caught that early on (for those who might not be aware it's not necessary to wobble your mouth and it doesn't add anything - it's just inefficient and looks weird - but a lot of otherwise very talented singers do it, and are often coached out of it)

It was criminal that Taron didn't receive at least an Oscar nomination as Elton John. Especially when you consider that he received nominations from BAFTA and SAG and won a Golden Globe, as well as a Satellite. He nails Elton's phrasing on the songs, sings them beautifully and perfectly, and also Elton's performance facial expressions, his walk and his run, and all along he's convincingly dramatic and authentically comedic.

Those moments, at 3:26 and 3:46. First with Taron looking at Sir Elton with such honor and respect and then Sir Elton looking at Taron with such love and he really looks like he's trying not to cry. Then lastly the moments at 4:45 - 4:50 where Sir Elton goes to give Taron a hug then Taron goes back for a quick word and kisses Sir Elton on the cheek. The huge smile from Sir Elton. You can see the friendship, respect, and love that there is between them. I'll be honest, I've never cried when watching Sir Elton sing with someone else. Until now.

Cannot believe I was lucky enough to be at this show. It was a warm evening, the sun was setting across a balmy sky, and this duet happens out of nowhere, right in front of me. Easily a show I will never forget. Thank you Elton for everything.

I was at this concert, it was probably the best evening of my life! All the people in the houses near the cricket club were sat on their balconies and roofs watching. Taron was also in the year above me in 6th form so it was very surreal watching him sing!

As a African American kid in high school in the seventies. Yellow Brick Road introduced me to Sir Elton, been a fan since then. Taron did a outstanding job in the movie.

Taron could’ve totally made this movie, or even this moment all about himself - but instead he chooses to make it about Elton, which is what it really is. He is one of the most down to earth young performers of this decade.. and SO talented. He deserves everything that comes his way. I truly admire him! ((Plus he’s SO nice to look at! 😜😍))

I'll never forget the first time I heard Elton John, early 70's. I just got my drivers license, driving in my new car of which I worked all through high school to buy, with my own money, a new Chevy Camaro. Elton's songs dominated the airwaves on US radio. I said to myself, this guy is really good!

@@mikeemike7597 We have a law banning homosexuality, so some scenes were cut out. Similarly, with scenes of drug and alcohol consumption. But on the other hand, we have worse movies. There is a lot of alcohol and licentiousness. Many people in our country are dissatisfied with this, and they simply did not go to the cropped film.
