You need to do a story on Hank Slomanski, the Command Sgt. Major of the 101st Airborne Division who awarded Elvis (and Dan Inosanto) their black belts in karate. He is a very important figure in Elvis' life that is not given the coverage it deserves.

In a book retracing the history of karate in France, there is a paper from Germany. the latter asks for a teacher to teach karate to Mr. Elvis Presley. I have a copy. His Japanese teacher said that Elvis had the 3rd Kiu level (green belt), which represents more or less 2 years of training.Thanks detective. 🥋🥋

If you search Shotokan Karate there is chart that shows the 3rd Kui is a Brown Belt which is what he had before he left Germany .. Different Karate styles do belts different ways..

The reason why Elvis moved from the Ritter's Park Hotel Bad Homburg to Bad Nauheim is because at that time a very rich sheikh , King Ibn Saud and his entourage with 30 harum girls and his guards ( with sabres ) were expected in this hotel. Elvis got upset about that, but the sheikh had more money, so they asked Elvis to leave and move to another hotel. Maybe for security reasons as well. The 13th son of King Ibn Saud visited Elvis and gave him a royal arabic caftan and a tea service with the royal coat of arms on it as a present. Regards from Germany ! TCB
