As good as it is I cant help but think the Levo SL will be left behind once the Amflow appears if all they do is change the rear shock🤔
@mtb_3930
@mtb_3930 Ай бұрын
@brianblessedsbeard it depends what is important to you. The amflow does not ride anywhere near as good as the levo. Yes the motor is stronger. But do you ride for the motor or do you ride for the bike feeling on the decent? These are 2 different things

All e-bikes will be left behind. This breaks the entire meta of “heavy full power vs light low power” it is light full power. All other e-bikes have compromises when compared to this one.

@@MastaShredduhyes but a bike is only as good as it rides DH for me. This bike still has something to prove in that area. I’m actually rooting for this company to succeed and possibly bring up quality while bringing down the cost of Emtbs. Despite the geo being a good copy and paste of modern trends, I have only heard that it descends “good” so far. I want amazing or it’s still a compromise.

Depends how you ride, I have a levo SL and ride a lot on low power using the micro adjust as i still like to peddle - just with a bit of help, and i can get massive range for big days out. the amflow whilst looking a good package, with that power motor how long will the battery last? how far can you turn the motor down? but then if you turn the motor right down whats the point of having a powerful motor? It looks a great bike, and i am sure it will appeal to a lot of 'Full fat' bikers who like to go up hill with little effort
@jasonyeoman-tr2fx
@jasonyeoman-tr2fx Ай бұрын
Thought there would have been a bit more from Specialized on the SL. No battery options again. By the time you’ve added an extender to get the range you might as well buy a FF and have the power also. I think SL/mid weights are dying out.

For on road use, I reccoment the Schwalbe Moto-X 2.5" in the dark tan sidewall version, of course! For road use, this is without a doubt, the best E-MTB tyre I have used. Excellent grip in both dry and wet conditions, great value and serious puncture resistance, so far managing over 1400 miles without suffering a single flat! If anyone knows of a better tyre for road use, please reply as I'd be very interested to know people's thoughts.

Ok I could have been more clear in my original comment. One thing about the face pulls I learned recently was to have the cable above your head, forcing you to hold your shoulder back and down. I had been doing them various ways for decades, as I was forced to learn about rotator cuff muscles due to my major injury. I had re-Injured my shoulder injury, originally ripped my humeral cap off, with no attachments. Was supposed to have 2 surgeries, but the navy declined to give them to me due to my age and the second one would have been after I turned 18. Took nearly a decade of rehab to get confident strength. Recently, After taking a fall and one-arm, grabbing a root on the way down a hill side, which jacked it up pretty damn good. I tried the regular rehab type workouts I had used in the past, and it just seemed to aggravate it. After changing the cable angle, and keeping the shoulder in a healthy position, instant improvement, after a year of struggle and pain. It made a huge difference for me and thought it could help someone else, especially when you understand the job of the rotator cuff muscles, which is both rotation AND keeping the shoulder joint functioning properly.

i really REALLY think amflow should also have an option sub 5k with an alloy frame and entry/midrange components. its a new brand (at least in the bikerealm) which noone has any experience with - reliability, customer support, resale value, etc etc. its probably a bit foolish, but reading "orbea", "speacialized" etc on the frame just has more upfront trust than an unknown (bike)brand. i also wouldnt drop money on a "kellys", "leader fox" or "stevens". saving a couple of 100s just isnt enough for me to take on the gamble

for tire pressure i run about 25lbs on my levo and my friends keep telling to bring it up to 30 -35 where its suppose to be and whats ironic is i have not had a flat tire on my levo running it at 25lbs while my buddies that do run the higher pressure has had multiple flats. i love the paint colour on the new levo sl so cool

I agree with tires and the pressures you run change the ride feel. Ive made the mistake where i will pump the tires up for riding the pavement to get to the trails, and forget to airdown before some mean, steep downhills. It's really quite obvious if you try different things out haha. I always have been a maxxis fan, but i recently swapped a Continental Kryptotal on the rear, and that thing grips so good on my local trails, that i will be swapping my front out for one as well Lol. Absolutely impressed with the traction.

22 psi before I screw back in the stem so less as it leaks out. Seems to work well and not bounce me around and still relatively fast up and on the road where I have to ride to get to the trails. 197 lbs full kited out.

If the life of the battery is determined by the number of complete full recharges does this follow that small batteries with extenders will have a shorter life span than larger battery covering similar distance, therefore the use of small battery and extender will need more frequent replacement and likely cost

Saw the Don at Coed Y Brenin today on the Amflow, both did the Tarw Du trail, interesting though as I think we did the same amount of battery, 40%! I’m on my Pole Voima with fox 40’s and my bike weighs around 25kg with a 750wh battery and I weigh around 83kg! I’d say I’m heavier than the Don😂 not sure what mode he was using? I only use auto mode on the performance CX motor.

Does the fast charger on the dji shorten the capacity and life of the battery like electric car fast chargers do?

Probably. If a battery can fast charge without degradation, EV car manufacturers would be all over it.
