In regards to things would shut down if this happend in the US. In 2008 around 35,000 of us Brits invaded Las Vegas to support British boxer Ricky Hatton. We took an entire brass band and marched through Vegas, the works. Vegas wasn't prepared for it and the mayor of Vegas came out and made a speech. He said "There hasn't been such an invasion of Brits since you invaded and burnt down the white house" For a laugh the Brits all cheered and said lets burn down Vegas. The mayor and police looked nervous as they hadn't prepared for us. In the venue one poor cop got stuck in the middle of thousands of Brits and got absolutely roasted. We had some chants with our brass band and just generally had a laugh. Unfortunately many Americans took it personally and got nasty. Some would try and chant back but the chants were pure nasty and didn't make any sense. They just failed to realise our chants and behaviour is not to be taken seriously and is all in good jest. Instead they thought we were arrogant and wanted to pick fights with us in the casinos afterwards, even the American women. Lol

On around 9 minutes your boys spoke a little about derbies... 1 of the best biggest rivalries and derby is the Sheffield derby it's so underrated because we're not the so called bigger clubs. But what the world forgets Sheffield derby was the first ever derby... the man who created and formed Wednesday was also the chairman of the league and the league wasn't bringing in enough crowds and wasn't far from folding and being no more and he had the idea to create another Sheffield club to play against each other so he created Sheffield United and it started fetching big crowds revenue an more or less saved the league... our little city was what brought football to the world the football rules as you know them was written in the back of a pub not far from my house... if you ever get the chance try watching a couple "steel city" derbies.. our families are all 1 or the other friends support opposites but we all love each other until derby day then we do not speak to each other for the entire day we hate each other just as much as we hate ones we don't know.. then the day after all back to normal.. just thought I'd give your a little bit of history and an insight into what's it's like.. could be a family member or friend of 20 years they will not acknowledge them on derby if they are for opposite side

Nice one lads. There's only segregation of fans in the top four tiers of English football. It does happen lower down the pyramid for 'big' games, but most fans can mingle peacefully together at lower levels, including fans of higher level clubs who get relegated into non segregated leagues. Before my time, but fans have only been segregated since the 70's in high profile football I think. Before then fans mingled fine in crowds much larger than any in the last 60 years. Fans tended to move around the ground depending on which way your team were attacking, the terracing usually being linked around most grounds to an extent. Fans of the same team usually flocked together behind the oppositions goal which created the atmosphere. Segregation and CCTV moved the hooligan problem out of the grounds and into town and city centres in the 80's. I imagine it was safer for my Dad to have me with him as a young kid at some away games back then.

Scotland pretty much support any team playing England including Argentina. However as British par se we are very united as a people. As regards the Rugby world cup the supporters have a different attitude. Chile the underdogs in their 1st world cup, the Puma's were given a lot of respect by all fans as was Japan when they 1st had a friendly against England way back when. Relegation and promotion add huge stakes to the fortunes of a club. The pressure it creates helps create an environment where truly ripping the piss out of the opposition is a thing. Franchised sport just doesnt generate the passion needed to chant amusing filth at a rival footie team. It can generate excitement but because there are no real penalties for losing, franchise sport (perhaps) doesnt have that same passion? Just a thought.

The Rangers in this was QPR. About a third of those videos were filmed at Ashton Gate, home of Bristol City and about half of those ones the Bristol City vs Cardiff game. This is a local (ish) derby that crosses England and Wales to has that added element on top. I put ish afterwards because there's 44 miles from Stadium to Stadium which is pretty close for Bristol, whereas some other clubs will have about a dozen games within that same distance (the ones in near Manchester as an example). Another chunk of the clips are from Cheltenham, a small town not that far from Bristol and quite an affluent area. Another game was at the Cardiff stadium when they played Bristol City in the reverse fixture and one or two were at Bournemouth, which is the closest Premier League side to Bristol, about 60 miles away. Saying all this because I'm pretty sure that even if the person who put the video together isnt a fellow Bristolian, they are based here.
