Those hunger buster packs are great, we have a stack on hand at home for "just in case", but use them up on quick overnight camps when their use-by date gets close. And yes, on track steak and mash for the win 👌🏼. Do need to get better at having a bit of water in the car at all times though, thanks for the reminder.

Great vid Buck ! ❤️these vids basically about common sense stuff that a lot of people don’t bother taking with them, because they think nah won’t happen to me, also a snake bite kit along with your first aid kit always better to be safe than sorry. Anyway Mate, good luck up there, stay safe & look after Mum 👍🍻

Always carry as much water as l can fit in the 4wd, also have spaghetti, baked beans and 2min noodles. Always carry salt, flour and honey too. Dehydrated fruit also has loads of calories! Same as tubes of condensed milk. Always have cup of soup packs

I carried the wet pouches when Hunting in the Ruahine and Kaweka Ranges back in Hawkes Bay. Kaweka Foods in Hastings make an awesome range. They probably made those ones you have there including the Military Ration Packs. The beauty thing about the Wet Pouches and Canned food is its already cooked, so when the shit hits the fan you can safely eat it cold straight from the Pouch or Can without heating it through. 🙂❤

Yeah we often ate cold in the Army when we didn't have time to cook.

My dad always stored some water in his old whisky bottles under the house, so you can always have something to flush the loo with if water gets cuts off. He’d keep some fresh water on hand throughout storm season too. I’ve always got a back up plan. Lots of great advice, thanks Buck, stay safe

Great advice Buck preparing for the worst especially when boating off shore where a lot can go wrong and get help is not so easy and now with the floods up your way getting food and safe water to drink would be a top priority.

Hadn't heard of that brand so I shall have a look. I have got stuff from Survival Supplies Australia and they were very efficient with plenty of gear on offer. I'm a bit of a prepper by nature and I would be suggesting that people keep some supplies, water and cash at home at all times just in case as well. During the recent health event I saw what was coming and stocked up beforehand so that when things went South we simply stayed at home away from all the chaos and drama. Floods up your way and people struggling to get food etc shows just how easily our systems can break down for various reasons. Sure wish we could get a bit of rain as it's as dry as a Nullabor Puddle here.

My policy when I go camping is no more than 15 miles from a bakery. seriously now, do these packs have a ubd or best before?
@Mrbuckaroonie..15 сағат бұрын
I like the bakery Policy mate. All these long life ration packs are best before. The Army ration pack I am about to review was packed in 2020. It will still be fine to eat. All long life stuff mate.

Here's a tip for real campers, not caravanners. Always carry a good quality multi vitamin with ya and extra vitamin B and C.
