I really hope that the Edelson dude proves to have as much integrity as it seems right now. The one thing I find so immensely disturbing about the whole Girardi situation is just how little care Tom and his people have for the suffering of their clients. He had this business model of attracting the weak so he could prey on them later and that, in my opinion, should get him stripped of every shred of fame, money, or possessions he has left and anybody who knew about his "business" and was aware that it is wrong on all levels should get dragged down with him. If everybody looks the other way, nobody will stop a crime. Looking the other way to me is a crime out of laziness, comfort. When it comes to ethics and morals, even the blind can see. The only ones that cannot see wrongdoing are those who lack ethics and morals themselves.

I love how the judge is making them write up how he can sanction them 😂 that’s extra mental punishment because they know where he’s going with it & he’s making them do all the research. Also, I have to give the Illinois firm this: they may have waited a couple months too long, but at least they finally turned Girardi in. It took way too long for someone to do this, other people could have done it years ago. The other lawyers from the firm clearly weren’t going to do that, they just quit their jobs and tried to forget what happened while having knowledge that some serious malpractice had been going down there for years.

A friend of mine is a paralegal, and once worked at a firm where she found out that the head of the firm was messing with clients on a broadly similar level (not disclosing more for her privacy). She reported him to the bar herself. I don't buy the "he was too powerful" excuse. You have a duty of care to the clients.

Your friend has morals. Gerardi not so much.
@LostSnipeHunter
@LostSnipeHunter 3 жыл бұрын
One thing there though, your friend had to trust the bar to act. And people in this situation may well not have as the main investigator for such corruption for the California Bar was best buds with Girardi, and that man's son was a "clerk" at the firm for 7+ years. And the head of the bar itself was also a personal friend and Girardi had pushed hard for him to put in place and so felt obligated (the friend was replaced only a couple of years back which may be why we are seeing this now). But seeing the boss pal around with him probably had a cooling effect on people's willingness to go to the bar. So I could see how a lot of people could see direct evidence that a complaint to that bar would fail . . . and if it will fail why bother risking the retribution?

Even if CA had a ‘snitch” clause, it wouldn’t have matter. We now know that TG had a person/people on the inside to alert him of potential conflicts. I do not believe TG is incompetent. A psychiatrist said he was. While a psychiatrist is a medical doctor who specializes in mental disorders. You would think with their resources (TG and Erika) that other physicians would have been consulted and a plan of care initiated. Instead he was left to wander around in his mansion alone to fend off would be burglars. A judge signed off on this. Tom clearly stated that he has judges in his pocket. Being incompetent allows him to skate off to the land of Nod with absolutely no culpability for his crimes. Ponzi scheme? Absolutely! Erika’s involvement is in propping up his alibi (dementia). The RICO angle is a very interesting idea to consider. Hats off to Edelson PC without them, this may have never come to light. Also, remember if someone tells you they’re a good guy, you can be sure they aren’t.

1) TG tells Edelson he's in the hospital for 2 day's having tests . In those 2 day's NONE of his attendings notice a cognitive decline. 👌 Lira testified Brain tumor. Which means TG was being attended by neurologist's . Oncologist or otherwise would have noticed concerning cognitive decline. I.e. dementia related. Yet by TG's admission in Edelson's voicemail , he was cleared to return to work ‼️ His sudden onset of I can't remember sh*t is record breaking & One for the medical annuals ‼️imo that should open a door to obtain his medical records. If we're still arguing if his sudden onset is real or imagined 2) TG'S admission to Edelson re: California judge's being in his pocket . An independent judicial committee needs to look into the "who's" sitting the bench hearing Girardi's case's. TG isn't the only attorney with purchasing power.‼️ a) If I was a defense attorney looking for an appeal argument. I'd be interested to know if my client was before one of these shady af Judges. 3) "smoked over" as in the proverbial smoke and mirrors. Meaning paperwork, financials & legal documents fudged to appear perfectly legal to anyone other than a forensic investigator 4) Lira testifies his FIL didn't have a relationship with the grands or family. IMO attempting to lead the court's away from some money buried in that direction. I distinctly remember the daughters name being used in terms of receiving lottery payments in addition to EJ. Throwing money in his daughters path. Could be construed as a relationship. People with shit tons of money do it all the time and believe it's a form of a loving relationship. 5) I also remember Lira's MIL stating in early filings (house argument filing) she hadn't received her monthly alimony payments of 10k for nearly a year. But Lira testifies he didn't realize sh*t was fu*cked up until spring of 2020. 360 even stated during the housewife and the Hustler the streets were talking about TG'S finance's! 5) based on Lira's testimony we're supposed to believe Lira had no idea what Girardi was about professionally when he knew enough about the man personally. Oh okay 👌. 6) Lira continued in his employ until late 2020. Being one of the last to jump ship. "Show me the company you keep & I'll tell you all about your character" Someone needs to start looking hard into The Lira families personal financials My verdict, the victims are ALL well and truly screwed & the only one who seems to give AF is Edelson ‼️ As always with our illustrious judicial system follow the money and I'll show you your justice.

Oh- @23:00 bar association ethics and different states: a sanction in one state is technically limited to that state (as Emily noted) but the other state can consider misconduct in another jurisdiction when looking at the character of the attorney and suitably for license. If there is actual reciprocity, then one state sanction gets pinged to the other state’s license. Usually - which is my understanding. Ok, bye.

I do feel the Murdagh case is slightly distinguished by the fact that the stealing Murdagh had a burned reputation due to the botched suicide attempt and his addiction. Until Edelson’s complaint, in California, Girardi was unequivocally more powerful than the other lawyers in the firm and Girardi could have easily ruined their reputation and careers if he wanted to. It’s easier to disavow a lawyer when they are at their lowest point.

We saw her basically like a single woman, traveling alone, performing alone, only with Tom 4 times that I can recall in all of the seasons in terms of actual time spent together more than 10 minutes. It’s sad that someone who was my hero, the reason I wanted to go to LMU, has turned out to be one of the worst lawyers to look up to. I don’t know what Lyra or Griffin could have done, it’s like a runaway train and Tom had pulled through in the past to their knowledge, and he only showed them what he wanted to. I don’t think Erika knew anything if no one working there knew where it is or what to do about it. If they attempted to snitch who KNOWS what Toms connections could have done to their career and to SHUT DOWN these rumors. Would he have found another loan and covered up his tracks? It’s so heartbreaking and I just want the money to go to the victims NOW, and let the business loans take the last possible seat here. There is SO MUCH money being spent in court alone, there is still two lawyers who could work and pay back these victims in a few years. Like you said “it’s not a LEGAL OBLIGATION” and I hope they ARE thinking about taking money out of their own pocket books.

I agree he treated her like a child and I doubt he would share stuff with her based on the way he treated and talked to her. Anytime he was around she became almost meek. My gut says she was just as stunned as everyone else

Wow! That law firm is really going to town on Girardi Keese and rightfully so. I am not from the US and I believe anyone who participated in this scam from the Cali law board right up to Girardi himself should be financially responsible and accountable, for large positions of missing money. There also needs to be transparency in all investigations and every complaint should be logged and made public. I also believe that having Girardi in a conservatorship is another way to avoid accountability, and having his brother the dentist declare he will represent Tom in court is a way that Tom can meddle and run the case thru his brother. I think this will become evident in time.

According to the Modern Rules of Professional Ethics (published by the American Bar Association) one CAN file an ethics complaint against an attorney whether the complainant lives in another State or not. You were just stating here that Edelson (Attorney in IL) maybe could not file a complaint with the California Bar (where Girardi is licensed) because he is in Illinois. There are so many cases where there are co-counsel and any party can file a necessary complaint. A non-attorney can lodge complaints or report misconduct even if the person was not directly aggrieved. If Attorney X was stealing client funds, a random person with that knowledge can file the complaint and provide the code violated and reason/proof for this assertion.

Shocking indeed. Great episode. I think the answer to the question of why didn't these Cali attorneys do anything is because of the literal influence Tom had in regards to politicians in Cali. Gavin Newson stated on an episode of WWHL that Tom played a huge part in funding his election win. Like Edelson said the bar, judges etc. So just imagine how long this political play has been going on in Cali on many levels of influence with Tom. I think that's why it went on that long. So I think the situation is much more political than people realize. That's automatically why the media isn't covering it because Tom's political contributions go to "their side" and they might be involved in covering it up as well. This case is so interesting for the whole world to see but mainly housewives fans and the legal field are interested, weird isn't it....

Okay the paw is 1 hilarious 2 reminds me of when I became "kitten in the vodka" with my WOW guild. It is Friday night at my husband and I are running a dungeon with members from our guild. I had made appletinis... We're running out of the apples so we just went with vodka... In the middle of one of the boss fights are 15-year-old cat (he was then kitten maybe six or seven months old) decided he was going to walk across my desk and drink my vodka. So since what it isn't so good for a kitten to drink I disregard the fact that my mic is open and loudly say to my husband he's just down on the other end of the desk...,"Kitten in the Vodka!!" Two or three times well I scoop up the kitten and smell his breath to make sure that he hadn't actually been able to drink the vodka. It wasn't as funny as Leroy Jenkins but it was a moment
