Emily Hayward Damn your dinner looked good. I took steroids and doubled in size, unfortunately they caused my spine to crumble meaning I can no longer walk. The weight goes on no matter what you eat or do. I struggle to accept my broken body. It’s the opposite from what it was prior to getting sick. You’ve taught me that I need to stop feeling sorry for myself and not worry when people stare at me in pity. Hopefully one day I will be able to go out without a panic attack. I want my life back....

Emma Stone I was on them a few months and developed osteoporosis as a result which led to spinal fractures and a few broken ribs. On top of that my other conditions didn’t help. It made no difference what I ate, I seemed to put on weight from air. Mind you, I couldn’t go to the gym like Emily does so that will hold her in great stead, both muscle and bone strength wise

August Jensen You are so right. Emily’s videos have taught me that. I’m not gonna lie, I was seriously thinking about committing suicide as I’m in so much pain etc but having watched Emily’s videos it made me realise how incredibly selfish I was being to even think of that. I know it all makes sense logically BUT when I’m in the wheelchair and feeling incredibly vulnerable and being spoken to in a condescending manner, it’s hard to think logically.

Echo 9970 I wasn’t made aware of the dangers of steroids or the possibility of fractures etc. It was only after my spine crumbled that they informed me that the steroids would have caused that. I can’t fault the NHS though, the service has been fantastic

I know you get this type of comment every day but I just wanted to say that finding your channel has happened to me at just the right time as it is making me so grateful for what I have. I had a brain haemorrhage in June 2016 and had to have surgery on my brain in November 2017. I had just gotten back to the person I was before my haemorrhage, in fact I ran a marathon in 3:06 a week before and the recovery from surgery has been full of twists and turns. I too have put on weight and at times felt that I was so far from that person that I would never return. I was expecting too much from myself but I have accepted now that I need to take it slowly and watching your videos and your positive mental attitude inspires me every day. Your motivation is truly amazing. My own mother died from cancer over 10 years ago. (It also went to her brain) When she was sick she never believed it would kill her and for the longest time I have found it hard that she never spoke to us about life when she might be gone or even said goodbye to us but watching your videos has helped me understand her mentality. Thank you so much. I wish you all the best on the rest of your cancer voyage. Yourself and Aisha are an amazing couple and are very lucky to have such an amazing relationship. x

People can be very quick to say that the NHS is not good or sub standard treatment and actually nothing could be further from the truth, the staff are always lovely and go out of their way to call you at home frequently just to check in with you and you have access to a specialist 24hrs a day if you have any questions or issues. It is a wonderful service and the times I have been treated by the NHS have been good experiences and made me very grateful to live in a country with free at the point of contact medical care.

Avocado is very cleansing. I had back surgery and the anesthesia and meds made me feel so awful for months. I started craving salads but added an avocado on it every day and finally went back to feeling better. My hair came back healthier, my joints felt better and less swollen, and I felt less sluggish. Hope you feel better, I know it’s rough.

Eating more greens and a wholesome natural diet sounds like a great idea. I think your positive attitude is helping the most. In short nothing you eat will substantially affect your acid/base balance as your body is amazing at regulating this itself and will automatically correct for any dietary factors! The normal pH range of your blood is 7.35-7.45 or slightly basic/alkaline, the main way in which your body controls this balance is through your kidneys through either retaining or removing different chemicals/electrolytes to maintain a balance. The other way your body automatically corrects your balance if needed is by adjusting the rate at which you breathe to either remove or retain more/less carbon dioxide. That being said green veg is great!! Best of luck with everything you are truly inspiring and I love your willingness and enthusiasm to share your story with the world, the impact you are having and will continue to have on everyone is so important.

Jade P your food does affect your acid base balance in your body. Your blood stays stable, but organs and tissues can be affected. Emily, you can test your acidity/alkalinity with urine strips.

Hi Emily! I went to an alternative hospital in Mexico once they told me there was no more to be done for me. They put me on a PH balancing diet, no meat of any kind, no fish, no chicken, no animal products, nothing fried , no man made foods at all and No sugar of any kind or sugar free anything. Lots of vitamin's, juicing, wheat grass etc...We had class everyday to teach to stay positive, you are doing an excellent job in the dept.I have been cancer free for 25 years as of May 5ht. I don’t have cancer so I have no idea what you guys are going through but it’s honestly so amazing to see two young women be so positive not just because of the cancer but just that you have such positive views on life which is contagious in a world that is filled with so much negativity. I had a brain tumor at eight months of age. then cervical cancer at 28 which sucked. but I had two kids and later adopted more. I admire you tenacity. your both incredibly strong. I did surgery but didn't do chemo I chose one hundred percent natural. if I had cancer again it would depend on the type, the level I'm at ECT to decide to do one hundred percent natural or combo of traditional meds and natural. you both hang in there. love n hugs

The rings were beautiful Emily and glad you two had a date night... Emily you do look much more awake and probably feel better as your meds kick in with your coffee and workout... You may have put on a few pounds but your body really looks good so no worries your doing great... I just keep praying for you and Aisha to have as much quality time and life as possible together and that you know your guardian angel is right there with you Emily ..
