Regarding the young male looks...Yes! I feel there's a heavy Korean influence in play everywhere. The "Wolf Cut" and shags are very "IN" and in general there's a resurgence of Natural Hair Appreciation. People (male & female) are really CELEBRATING their natural hair textures and I'm LOVING IT! The beauty standard of only type A super straight being the ONLY beautiful hair type is dead.

Hey Em! I'm sure you've tried this before but speaking as someone with very curly hair, my eyelashes hold a curl well but I always heat up my eyelash curler with a small travel blow dryer I keep on my vanity. I only use the dryer for a few seconds to warm up the curler but it makes a WORLD of difference in the amount of curl I get and the hold. Sometimes they get too curly! Lol. Try it! I actually started doing makeup at 20/21, so in 2017. I took one makeup class with my mom, to kind of know where to start, and from then on I learned everything from the internet. It took a while to fing good tutorials for my face and eye shape, but having video does help a lot on having a true visual about how the things are done.. Seeing someone blend the shadow helps a lot to seeing *how* the shadows get to look blended. I didn't go with makeup to my own prom, because for my 15th birthday my mom had hired a stylist in our local salon (now, I'm thinking he was more an amateur makeup enthusiast than a makeup artist) to do my makeup. It looked so bad, I felt horrible, and got home to wipe the majority of it off. I didn't feel confident I could look good in makeup and was scared of someone else making me look and feel that bad again. Learning how to do it myself was a game changer, and seeing people online make makeup seem fun was amazing too. I'm glad people are discovering the fun of makeup at a younger age, and are either doing the makeup well themselves or having access to the people than can do it for them

Love your simple and elegant look today! Hearing about the cardinals reminded me of our first Spring in this house. Daily a male cardinal would repeatedly throw himself at his reflection in our deck door as his female companion watched from the deck rail. Meanwhile, a male woodpecker was attempting in vain to get bugs from the vinyl siding on the house next door.😒 After several days we noticed the cardinal was no longer at our door but instead the woodpecker was attacking his reflection while the ex-mrs cardinal watched from the rail. Apparently she liked her partners pretty but dumb. 😂 XXOO ❤

Ms. Gold girl had a great tip for getting the shadow up higher. Hold your mirror up high and the shadow just naturally goes up higher. I feel like I see more hair on boys too. It’s long in back in back, just fluffier I feel like lockdown had something to do with that .

Ooohh I remember how much you raves about the beauty bakery blushes. They are pretty! Glad to see you using that palette again. This was my first time experiencing teacher appreciation week. My child’s school gave suggestions for how to show your appreciation so it went with one of their ideas, but I love the idea of some beauty products and will have to remember that! I was just at Walmart doing grocery shopping and I picked up the L’Oréal 4-in-1 balm foundation to try and the physicians formula butter believe it translucent powder. Can’t wait to try them both! I see a lot of long hair on teenage boys all the way up to men in their twenties and thirties, and I’m in Ohio. I think they just grew it out in the pandemic and decided to keep it.

I have a sophomore in college (son) and a senior in HS (daughter), and the boys’ hair trends seem to vary by group. The theater kids have very ‘expressive’ hair, often wearing it longer and with some fun colors in. My son’s friends are more clean cut and generally have short hair, maybe with some fullness on top. As for the prom girls, you are right - the girls of this era never went through that awkward phase. They are stunning and very mature looking. My daughter loves makeup and is amazing at applying it on herself and others. It’s a fun hobby we share.

I have been using Laura Mercier Secret Brightening Powder for 15 years. It’s great under the eyes, and if you have any fine or deeper lines on the face try applying the powder precisely in those areas. So good! If you have the “11’s” between the eyes, put it there.

In Texas - I just cut about 8 inches off my son’s hair and it’s still below his shoulders. He stopped wanting to have it cut in elementary school. He’s starting high school and says we can cut it more before then. We shall see. Love the glowing skin look on you! Being an oily skinned gal, I shy away from glow. Happy Mother’s Day, Em! I use the Laura Mercier Secret Blurring Powder under my eyes every day *after* I apply blush. I think it blends the line between under eye concealer and blush (which can sometimes be stark for me) beautifully. My favorite brush to use is one that came in Taylor Wynn’s Sigma set, but unfortunately those are currently unavailable.

I just watched your video from a year ago, "Brighter, Wide Awake Eyes, Beginner Tutorial". I am writing this note here in hopes that you might see it and know how much you and your videos brighten my life! (No joke.) Here is what I wrote on that video: "Thank you for this video, Em! I just turned 60 and I am looking for ways to use makeup to make me look more awake and youthful. I actually paused this video to pop over to the Sephora Website to buy the ABH eye brightener I have been wanting for YEARS! Then I popped over to the Target Website to get the Breakup Proof Eye Liner, some regular Aquafor Ointment (NOT the lip balm) to use on my lips (a la Jessica Braun), and some boxes of kettle corn microwave popcorn (6 bags for less than $3 for each box). I stocked up on that one! That's my little sweet treat to add to this pampering self care package. I had Covid on my birthday (Cinco de Mayo) and was still self quarantining on Mother's Day. Mother of a 19 yr old from Houston and his hair is super curly mid length. People think he perms it but it’s all natural. Curly hair for boys seems to be in. As a teen in the late 90’s/00’s all I see is Justin Timberlake’s ramen noodles hair. I starting singing “it’s gonna be May”. He was laughing, that kid gets my humor 😂
