DRUGSTORE HAUL & TRY-ON… New (and just new to me) Makeup!

Just a tip here that I think could help those who struggle with colorful looks getting "muddy". You do NOT need a neutral to start off your crease because then the brown that's inevitably in that shade is what makes the color muddy. You can start directly with a medium colorful shade, or if that's intimidating to you, you can even start with a pastel and then add depth as you build colors. And if you absolutely feel like you need your neutral transition shade to be comfortable in a colorful eye then do as Emily did with the peach and just blend the from the border up, but don't go over the colorful shade. I hope that made sense. It's a game changer tip when it comes to pulling off green and blue on the crease and such! 😉

@@Battychick189 try using the color as your transition , or like I said if you really want to add a neutral then do it last and only on the very top of the shadows. Also a great transition shade to use with colors is a basic pink, (but make sure it's truly pink and not peach or rose brown) it's easy to blend into the skin, it goes really well with reds, oranges, yellow, berries, and also green, blues and purples because it doesn't turn them muddy, just a bit purple where they meet, so it usually looks very pretty!

Sometimes with baked gelee formulas like the Revlon skin lights bronzer you need to either break through a like top layer and/or use a dense natural hair brush to get more pigment out of them. Them being sheer and buildable is what I love about them.

I used a Revlon blush in Nude as far back as the 80's. It was a cool bronze shade. It was pretty great even back then. I think you can't go wrong with a really neutral natural shade blush for everyday.

Cool Ivory is the lightest shade in Fit Me concealer. I really like the Fit Me concealers, they are comparable to Nars creamy for me but much more affordable. I use a couple different shades for different purposes--brightening/highlighting, concealing & color correcting depending on the shade. It makes a good base to cancel redness under skin tints & tinted balms or sometimes I just wear it alone over spf as my base with some transparent setting powder.

The bronzer is looking great on camera, more natural and believable compared to some of the darker ones that can just sit on the hairline. It and the blush go lovely with the light tinted moisturiser you are wearing...but would no doubt get lost with a full coverage foundation. One should never covert but gosh I'm so envious of your skin. Think you could walk around with a mud pack on your face and still look beautiful.

I have one of those new Covergirl lipsticks in the shade Darling Mocha and I LOVE it! It's a nice warm, toasty neutral shade that looks sooo smooth and beautiful on the lips, and leaves my lips feeling so nice and hydrated even once the color wears away. I also have been a huge fan of the Fit Me tinted moisturizer since last summer; now that it's hot where I live, I've been falling back in love with it all over again. I think it's especially great for super oily skin like mine; it stays looking so fresh and lovely all day! I hate that it got so much bad "buzz" on KZbin when it came out; I feel like that probably turned off a lot of people who might have otherwise liked the product from even trying it. Hi Emily. I have been following you a long long time (since the pink room) and most times I never comment, but here's two great things that happened. I had to go to Subway today and order your BLT salad. It's delicious!!! And I found 2 of the Emily Needs palette at a Marshalls and I bought both. Profusion’s desert sage pallet is a beautiful pallet and blends like a dream. The yellow in this pallet is done very right which is hard to achieve

I bought this Desert Sage kit recently on closeout at WalMart, paid $3.25! Bought it for the greens and blues, actually fell in love with the golden yellow! I wish I'd bought two, the shadows are rather soft and may not stay whole for long. But for $3.25?!? I also picked up a couple of the three-brush Profusion sets that were part of the companion issue; each set cost $2.50 and came with a handy zipper pouch that could cost $10. by itself. Sorry to see clearance for these items that were just introduced a few months ago, but I think they're making room for a new Jurassic Park collaboration. So anyway, Thank you WalMart!

@@MyCleverHandle Revlon has let me down with a crapton of discontinuations and questionable branding over the years (seriously, who asked for a brand named Flesh?), I do hope that rung their bell and made them rethink their stuff. I had a horrible time with the fit me tinted moisturizer, it broke up right away and sat on top of my skin very patchy. I was so disappointed because the fit me dewy is still one of my favorite foundations, but the tinted moisturizer just did me dirty! Glad it worked out better for you though, just wanted to share my experience 😉 Also, love the colorful eyelook!

I absolutely appreciate Drugstore videos because that’s where I spend 80% of my money on makeup and the other 20% is Indie Brand eyeshadow for those special multi chrome shades , for me the money spent on those singles is worth it because first off nobody else can even come close to matching the quality of the shadows and I use those suckers up compared. In no palettes have I ever used panned a shade or used it up completely where as with my Clionadh or Terra Moons and of course Super Shocks from CP I use every bit of product in that pan , I personally love a sparkly wet shiny metallic I don’t want no weak barley there shimmer I can deal with most matte shadows but the BH formula was one of my absolute favorites they had 3 formulas the crap one the good one and the fantastic one. Sadly Revolution bought them out and it could go 1 of 2 ways they keep using that absolutely amazing formula which had fantastic metallic and multi chromes and mattes or they scrap it and continue to use their awful formula, the only time any Revolution eyeshadow is workable is when it’s a Collab palette other than that I personally hate their eyeshadows . So these Drugstore videos are very helpful for many many people and with the cost of everything skyrocketing even more ppl are going to turn to Drugstore products to try and save money wherever they can, I’m Canadian here our gas is priced by the liter not the gallon and our gas is almost 3 bucks for 1 tiny little liter ! Our Mortgage and Rental costs have gone up so badly that ppl are losing their Homes and these are Middle Class two income Families, food has almost tripled all of this in the last 3 yrs from Pandemic to now the War is of course the Government’s reasoning . Unless you’re honestly wealthy ppl are going to stop spending crazy amounts on makeup I know I can’t drop 60/110 on a bottle of Fountain and yes we have Foundation at the price and even way higher our Sephora is double the price of the American one heck a NYX palette is 66 bucks after tax for DRUGSTORE! The average price for Drugstore Foundation is 23 bucks here , in Saskatchewan where I live Elf/Revolution/ CoverGirl/ Maybelline/L’Oréal only carry about 45% of the line’s products why 🤷‍♀️ it’s not FDA thing we don’t have Profusion unless it’s Christmas Season and then it’s only a few things and more Brands are not available in Canada than ones that are again why 🤷‍♀️ most are only available in the States because they don’t want to pay for being Internationally available. I think we’re moving into another really bad economic downfall and the first thing ppl will start to spend less on is makeup so these videos will be very valuable information to ppl to seek to see what’s worth the money even if it Drugstore and everyone already knows Ultas prices as well as CVS unless you have those double savings in coupons are the most expensive where as Walmart is going to be the best price except on Skincare if you have a Costco membership get you skincare there it’s by far the best deal you will find 2 for the price of less than 1 .

You have convinced me to try that salad! Not sure that's the point in a makeup video though 🤣 I've noticed that Cover Girl prices at Ulta are about 50% higher than other places like Walmart/Target. I definitely wait for CG products to go to WM before buying.

Hi Emily! First of all, love your videos always. I worked at subway for 6 years, so hearing you talk about subway made my ears perk up, I love it!! At my subway, we would always chop up the bacon, and it should only be a 6 inch portion, so 3 pieces!! Don’t be afraid to tell the worker what you want!! :)
