His palms are sweaty, wrapped up gloves are heavy, There's oil on his body he's ready, touch gloves he's steady, Not nervous, but on the surface he is scared but ready to drop Holmes, And he keeps on dodging jabs ducking down, The whole crowd goes so loud, he counters the hooks and the man wobbles down, It's over now, everybody's cheering now, The ref ran up, fight's up TKO!

One Legend talking to another. You can tell Eminem has great respect for Tyson because he's trying to ask a genuine question about whether Mike is ever nervous or afraid before stepping into the ring and is trying his best to make sure he doesn't come across as disrespectful to him in any way. Thankfully, Mike has enough humility to understand what Em is getting at and flat out says that he was scared every time. Amazing character moments from both of them.

No he's in the past said he was scared. In his early amateur fights he was literally crying before his fight. Hes scared. Scared of loosing and sacred of getting hurt scared of his opponent. Hes dreamt of them beating him. Its fear but he controls it and when the moment comes all of it goes away. Ive boxed and i can relate ive felt like calling off the fight even though it was my 20th fight, the feelings never go away, not really you just learn to manage it better. But when that bell rings, when the punches start, you training takes over, and you realize theres nothing you love more.

Very true. After my knee reconstruction I had a massive brace on my leg, and after 6 weeks I was told I could start learning how to walk. As I limped along in public, entire leg covered in a metal/plastic brace I felt like a dying animal left on the side of the road, starving and desperate to live. I was ready to attack anything and anyone that’d try to hurt me. Kept a switchblade visibly hooked onto the front strap of the brace. I’d go into federal buildings in DC, secret service would look at the knife and I’d explain why I had it, they all understood. Had to leave it outside of course, but everyone understood why I kept the blade on me

Only curious, that the first time outta school you ever write algebra-looking stuff? 6th grade education here. This seems like the only reason I ever saw for it. BTW, I don't guess I'm stupid, I make good money to beat on shit and weld a little.

It's funny seeing people make fun of Em's grammar likes He's not just a Guy! This is authentic Em speaking from the heart. Searching for the words to say to a Man who's basically a God of Men also! People feared Mike in the Ring, like Rappers fear Em on the Mic! It's genuine.

This was a perfect question to a perfect answer. Boxing was a way in which Tyson dealt with his fears and released his anger. That’s what made him an animal in that ring. He was not just fighting for his wins but he was fighting for his life

Man, Tyson is the ideal male role model, dude went through hell, gathered strength through his trauma and used it for violence to a point where people feared and still fear him, he went to the lowest lows, got in tune with his own feelings, acknowledged his trauma, acknowledged his anger and no longer allowed them to control and dictate his life, he is indeed still an animal, but has such discipline, self-awareness and is so in tune with himself and his emotions that he just does not need to be the violent, brash man he was in his youth, that is a real man, not afraid to be himself and at peace with all sides of him.

"So I'm an animal now" thats fucking deep, It made me instantly visualise a wolf and i don't think I'm to far of with that shit. Maybe that why he is one of the few people in the world who can sleep with a Tiger in their bed its raw animal instinct most of us would be ripped apart while we sleep probably on the first night. Mike Tyson is one of the greatest ever and will be remembered with the same respect as Muhammad Ali. There both amazing boxers but they both have a deep connection with who they are and what they believe even away from the spotlights of boxing and for that i also thank these interviews and people just being real and i love that. Big respect to you all and the beatbox community.ESH👊🔥👊
