I met Eminem in 2005, I was 16 at the time and followed my brother and his friends to a concert in Detroit. I made sure not to freak out, mainly because I wanted to look cool in front of my brothers friends, but he was the absolute most calm person I’ve ever met. We were walking out of a hotel and he was going in, and I said “I don’t want to bother you, I just wanted to say hi!” And he gave his body guards a nod like “it’s ok” and he said “I appreciate that, but you’re not bothering me” and he talked to us all for a few mins. We got a terrible picture on an old disposable camera and I got his autograph on his ticket stub. As of that day he could do no wrong in my eyes.

That's not even an exaggeration. It takes months and years to develop an ear for Eminem's entendres, because he uses history, pop culture, poetry, literary works (novels, dramas, playwrites), grammar, politics, a lot of references from different walks of life, different fields, etc. in his raps. Of course if you just look up what his lyrics mean, or have it explained to you, you'll understand it instantly (ah, that's what he's doing here). But to be able to catch the entendres on first, second, or third listen if you don't have the ear for it yet is just impossible. Eminem has a good "general knowledge", and he expects his listeners to have it as well, or they won't catch his bars. So just take it slow. Don't worry. :)

There is quite a sad story behind Em always having a serious face. When he was younger his mother (suprise suprise), told him that he always looked goofy when he smiled. It has since effected him on a deep level, he has stated that he hates his smile, and tries his hardest not to laugh on camera. I'm not going to recommend any songs, as you probably already have a list as long as your arm 😂 ✌️
@scottishemmaa24572 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I’ve also heard this too! It’s heart breaking and you never see him smile or laugh in any ‘official’ press, interviews or photos. Even in the longer interviews he’s done over the past few years with Sway or Crook, he’s doesn’t laugh, and those are guys he knows on a personal level. It’s such a shame because you can tell from his writing and what his close friends have said about him, that he’s really funny, probs quite goofy and really knows how to laugh at himself too! (The Homicide track with Logic and how he dealt with Chris De’lia’s impression of him is defo proof of that, lol!). That’s why one of my absolute favourite interviews was when him and Royce did a promo ‘interview’ for Bad Meets Evil. It was done as if someone had ‘let’ them onto the internet to do a live stream on their own for 20 mins and it was carnage!!! Em was holding up various signs saying he’d been ‘kidnapped’ and to ‘send help’. Even though it’s probs 7 or 8 years old now, it still makes me smile! Im sure you’ll have seen it, but just in case I’ll come back and edit a link into my comment! Edit: link below kzbin.info/www/bejne/iImqmmCmZ7JnjbM

You should hear at this point what is considered not only one of Eminem's best songs, but one of the best Hip Hop songs ever, Lose Yourself (he even won the Oscar and to understand it first you should see the 8 mile movie. )

Don't apologize ever. You are joyous to watch and I ADORE your genuineness. It's refreshing to see. We watch reactions to see someone else feel the joy WE felt on our listening journey...be it Em, Tool, NIN, everything. It's really fun to watch and I'm glad I stumbled across you. I grew up with Em, and it's so fun to see others discover his lyricism. ❤ On a different point... have you possibly lost someone close to you recently? You occasionally have an orb around you. I feel like it's someone watching over you. I caught it twice in this video. You don't have to say... I'm just curious. They're perfectly round little balls of light that are almost circling you. One happened RIGHT before you got chills. It passed behind you, and you got chills. Just seems protective and comforting, and is pretty rare to see. Just an observation ❤

Hi Chris as another "oldie" person, I am enjoying this journey with you. Unlike you, I have listened to Em and do enjoy his music as I think he is a great story teller and lyricist. I listened to a KZbin interview with him which was pretty much all about Hallie and I found it interesting and thought I would share with you in regards to the "hard language", Em did not use it around his children nor were they allowed to use it either. He stated that the language is part of "his job", it needs to be used to go along with the flow of the music/rap. I thought you would enjoy knowing that, and make you love him even more

I am thrilled you are discovering what we’ve always known about Eminem, I’m 51 btw so I have enjoyed his genius for years lol, PLEASE react to his early work. “My Name Is”, “Without Me” He came on the scene and literally changed the game, enjoy! And thank you for your channel, love it!

I love your genuine reactions so so much. As a long time Eminem fan, your reminding me of his pure talent. He really is a story teller. I love your open mind and heart towards him, and your ability to admit that you were prejudice before too. Keep spreading your open-ness. The World needs it.

Greetings from Argentina man, great reaction to this beautiful and powerful song. I would love your reaction to "Lose Yourself", it is something different from what you have been reacting to Em but it maintains the essence of fighting in this life. Because this song is about life and pure rap, how a white boy fights against the discrimination of his skin because rap is or was a purely African-American culture. It is, so to speak, Eminem's introduction song since the entire planet knows it, whether you are a rap listener or not. In fact, he made this song for his movie "8 mile" from 2002, as well as "8 mile road", another song that I highly recommend. Not for nothing this man is not only the most successful rapper of all time, but one of the 20 best-selling musical artists in music history.

Eminem’s most emotional song is “difficult” - Written during his darkest days after proof died & during the height of his addiction. Never officially released and doesn’t even have a chorus but sounds haunting without one. It’s on KZbin if you want to check it out

One of the most underrated songs, and not forgetting to mention, one the songs that I tune into almost every single time when I listen to music. To be honest, Eminem is one artist I'll never tired to listen to, cause every single song has its own deep message. Loved the reaction, and would love to see more of Eminem reactions, as you always do!🙌🏼🙌🏼

The line that ALWAYS breaks me in this song is right after saying he's losing his sense of humor, then immediately after showing it's still there (as you noticed), then the lyric: "I just hide behind the tears of a clown."😭😭😭 That segment represents my personal struggle with depression. I've ALWAYS been witty, funny and pretty outgoing...and the hardest part for me was noone ever knew my personal struggle because without even trying I'm naturally excellent at hiding it even when I wanted to scream out or breakdown. That paired with his vocals in this track. It's not like he's just faking sadness. Like in other songs, he said impactful and emotionally devastating things...but in this song only it feels like there's actually zero left in him. He was clearly drained of all zest for life😔
@eleanorgames28572 жыл бұрын
Nick you are still witty,funny,outgoing and yes you may hide it well so no one on outside sees it.... 2 people close to me gave their lives through depression 😔 I never knew a thing. Be strong my bro and talk to ppl you trust..Good luck

To me this is honestly one of the best songs Eminem has ever wrote he said this was the first song he wrote after getting out of Rehab in 2007 I believe Crazy right also Please React to Eminem “Going Through Changes” Lyric Video & “Beautiful Pain” Ft. Sia Lyric Video I’m sure you would enjoy that also Em will never retire that won’t happen you have rockstars who are in there 70’s 90’s still doing music plus it’s impossible to retire from Music Hip Hop is Eminem he said without it in Survival that he’d lose his shit if he didn’t do it also Proof told him to never put the mic down EVER!👊🏽🐐🔥💯

Thank you.

In the Chorus "But dont let them say you aint beautiful" Eminem is singing to the City of Detroit (His home town). this is why the visuals are of detroit being torn down. Hes relating how triumphant his city used to be when vehicle manufacturing was still in the city. now the jobs have all left and the city fell into poverty. Hes relating the fall of his hometown to his fall into addiction, and being pulled out of it.
