I really like your Cantonese videos because I’m American born Chinese and my family speaks Cantonese, but since I grew up not speaking Cantonese with my family, I haven’t been able to learn how to speak it properly. In a way, your videos help me remember how to say things and even learn new words.

Yes more Cantonese videos please! My dialect is not Cantonese and I'm trying to learn on my own. I speak English but I still find your English learning video very helpful. I want to pick up a nice (or at least neutral) English accent and improve how I express myself in the language. Keep going with the videos😘

Being immersed in the English environment is a crucial to improve English proficiency. I was a 2017 dse taker, at that time , I think my English was not that good. Studying year 2 in the post-secondary education, I have immersed in the internationalized environment for over 1 year and my English has progressed so much.
I really love hearing you speak Cantonese. I'm opposite to you, I'm born and breed in Australia and my Cantonese is only conversation level. I wish I was more fluent in Cantonese and can read and write more.

Wow! I’m so amazed by you because you now speak verryyyyy fluent in English though it is not your primary language. I have been trying to converse fluently in English but I have no one to practice it to. Thanks for your tips, I haven’t thought of that one, to converse with your idol while watching the show. 😁

Yes! same here! I'm a mandarin speaker but want to learn cantonese! Unfortunately the whole subtitles thing doesn't work out so well since I can only read maybe 50% of the Chinese characters, and not that fast lol.
@karenng81914 жыл бұрын
beaglestar honestly there are a lot of cognates between the two languages. I’m fluent in canto but can understand mand based on the cognates and also having familiarity with the sound of the language lol. It definitely takes time but just listen to music from that language and you’ll slowly pick things up. It’s also how I learned Spanish haha

Support your videos all the time!👍🏻💪🏻

It was amazing to get know how you learned English. BTW your English is so fluent and tends to be American accent, it made me first thinking you are living aboard (though you are Canadian born) and later realized that you are educated and living in Hong Kong. Great and keep up your channel.
There's not so many Cantonese KZbinrs with English subtitles so please keep posting in Cantonese if you can (at least that I know of)!! Really enjoy watching and it helps me with my Cantonese too! :)

Give some good points for learning English. For me, when I was young, there was less English TV chips can be found. That moment Michael Jackson was very popular and I listened and tried to follow him to sing songs : ).

A very good way to improve English is to use it at work, working in an international company, remote or in office. Also reading articles, blogs, forum discussions regarding your profession. Of course one needs a lot of grammar exercises and a lot of repetition to memorize language rules.

@natalibong81774 жыл бұрын
HI, I am from Indonesia too. From kids I love to watch chinese movie ,I rent from DVD rent store , I love to sing Mandarin song too and it helps me to understand and can talk in Mandarin,not expert but I can, for writing Mandarin only can write a little. Same method I use to my boy & girl for english and mandarin, early start from baby. and They can talk well. We need confidence too to talk so we can know what wrong in word or tone.
@chuuppy14384 жыл бұрын
It's honestly really complex but it's not bad. The grammar is almost the same. Except we say, you are who? etc. And you have to learn the accent. And more..
