I think the best thing about your videos is that you show people how to beat the boss. A lot of videos show people how to use cheese tactics but you are very detailed and explain how someone can beat the boss without relying on cheesy strategies.

I'm almost 50 and with the help of an old mouse and keyboard I managed to get all Sekiro throphies. Furthermore, I only played 5 games in the last 10 years. That been said, if i was able to finish the game, everybody can. Fuzzy Bearbarian, your guides were fundamentals for me. The way you scrutinized bosses movements made all the difference. And some of your advices were decisive. For example, the use of Floating Passage against Emma and Isshin. Many thanks, mate.

Yeah that's how he got me on his headless video. Fought him way to early and much later decided to watch a video to see if I was too weak at the time, or my combat sucked. Turned out it was both. His video was so thorough it blew me away and instantly subscribed. His tips have upped my combat 10 fold. Now I prefer to beat a boss and then watch his video for 2 reasons. 1. Is that oh duh moment where he destroys the boss in no time. 2. Is I use the tricks I see on future enemies. Watch the videos of bosses you already beat, you'll still learn new things.

@fuzzybearbarian5 жыл бұрын
It sounds like you're not pressing attack twice. If you only use floating passage like I do in this video he absolutely cannot attack back but if you press floating passage attack button once and don't press attack a second time to keep the combat art going it's full distance then he can. But that said, I personally prefer to fight Isshin without any combat arts. I put floating passage in the video as it is easier for most people, but ideally just basic sword swipes should be used aggressively against Isshin.
@Sapherr4 жыл бұрын
The only problems I have is isshin being a firebender because I used the umbrella that can block fire but the fire hit me once then I died
@Ruosteinenknight4 жыл бұрын
Interesting. I was under impression that "Floating passage" is considered as one of the weaker if not weakest combat arts. Most go with Ichijimonji or high monk as their go to combat art. I found out that both Emma and Isshin are quite vulnerable to Shadow rush. With Emma you can get guarantee two hits connecting (three, if you time your hit right when you go down after jump) but Isshin sucks 4 hits from shadow rush because he's so tall. This drains lot of spirit emblems though.
@fuzzybearbarian4 жыл бұрын
Floating passage got buffed in a patch but still it's not the strongest combat art. However, it is useful in this fight as it is a safe way to counter their moveset without them being able to interrupt it.

How did you get so good at this game? This is my first FromSoftware game and I am having a miserable experience. Picked the Shura ending because I can't take any more bosses after this.
@fuzzybearbarian5 жыл бұрын
Sorry to hear that man. I enjoy a lot of the game but I can certainly understand why some of it seems miserable (camera, I'm looking at you especially). Honestly, it's all just practice though. As your first From game know that they are meant to be hard. They're designed to make you work very hard for every inch of advancement. You're meant to be unsuccessful over and over until the big break through happens because it is after feeling like it's all impossible and finally doing it that the biggest elation of success comes. Notice I say "unsuccessful" because that is the way to view your efforts. Don't think of them as "failure" or "miserable". Nobody is great at a From game without lots of practice, patience and perseverance. I've previously played all Dark Souls but I think Nioh really helped hone my skills because I tended to focus on the parry skills in Nioh which translate well here. Still, you don't need any of that. Sekiro is its own beast. Just keep plugging away at it. No matter how miserable you feel, keep telling yourself success will come - it just takes time and effort (and maybe the help of some guides lol). Good luck!
@NotoriousVC5 жыл бұрын

@@NotoriousVC Thanks man. What I want most of all is for people who are struggling to have a better time with the game because it really does feel awesome once you get a boss battle down and can do it at will. For some maybe the frustration isn't worth it, but I personally feel games like Sekiro offer a way to improve ourselves as well as our ability at the game specifically. Nothing more challenging than not losing your mind trying to get better a game like this lol. Sekiro is the ultimate tool for stoic training :D And once you practice enough you'll look back and wonder how you struggled in the first place. Just resolve to never give up even if seems to take forever and you'll succeed 100%, no doubt!

Would getting Spiral Cloud Passage be a benefit for this or would I just be wasting my time grinding the xp.
@fuzzybearbarian4 жыл бұрын
No, you'd just be wasting your time grinding. There's plenty of that to come in NG+++'s :D

If you guys want to make sekiro really hard get to the very end then stop playing for 7 months lol I was going to finish the third playthrough to see all the endings, but life got hectic finally came back to this boss fight 7 months later.. it's rough Probably just going to start over and actually finish this time as the evil ending doesn't take too long to get to.

Only 3 minutes in but her sweep attack reminds me of a question. High monk, sweep counter. Is it very effective? Muscle memory has doomed me from doing it properly so I can't vouch on its affects yet. Seeing a sweep is an automatic jump instead of L1, R1.
@fuzzybearbarian5 жыл бұрын
I honestly don't know as I don't even have that skilled unlocked yet. I'd like to know though, so if you test it I'm all ears.
@miceandgods41715 жыл бұрын
@@fuzzybearbarian wish I could. Been trying but a combination of muscle memory and stupid fingers are preventing it. Either I jump automatically, or I'm so focused on remembering to hit L1, R1, that when the sweep finally comes, I freak out and stutter for a split second and get hit. Supposed to do decent posture damage.
@fuzzybearbarian5 жыл бұрын
@@miceandgods4171 I'll try it at some point, though it's sounding a bit like too much complication if it requires good muscle memory and a lack of stupid fingers :D

@@fuzzybearbarian lol, hard to unlearn. More important tactic though......old flute playing bastards. All over fountainhead. One caught me and turned me into an old man and killed me. Any defense? Didn't play yesterday but last few deaths were from mystery lightning that I don't know where it came from. Enter water, lighting, dead.

@@miceandgods4171 That'll be one of the dudes up top, maybe on the statue, throwing his lightning bomb thing. Basically kill everything before entering the water.

I've found that Isshin *can* attack me while I'm using Floating Passage. Has this been patched or am I doing something wrong?
@fuzzybearbarian4 жыл бұрын
Not patched. What's likely happening, and I have to guess here, but as I say near the start of the video at around this mark (kzbin.info/www/bejne/h3yvdHWho9mcg9U), Floating Passage should be used as a counter attack, not as an outright attack. When used as a counter attack it forces the enemy to block. However, they can attack immediately upon you ending the Floating Passage attack, so you have to immediately try to deflect once it ends. If in the end you can't make it work though, I also recommend unequipping combat arts entirely. I played through all NG+'s without a combat art equipped (with the exception of Mortal Draw at times for fun) as I find it's just easier to defeat enemies with standard attacks and easier to time attacks and deflects without using combat arts. I say unequip because it's also easy to accidentally triggering combat arts that then get you in trouble.
@aliquidcow4 жыл бұрын
@@fuzzybearbarian Yes I realised after posting that, you'd said only to use it as a counter, got it working now. Getting a little further with each attempt for the most part, and usually managing to get past Emma without using the gourd, which is handy. Isshin has that one perilous attack which is so fast nothing I do seems to dodge it in time, not sure what to do about that one.
@fuzzybearbarian4 жыл бұрын
Only just saw your comment, a few days late. I'm betting you've already beaten him by now?
@aliquidcow4 жыл бұрын
@@fuzzybearbarian Yes! I beat him shortly after posting that actually. Can't remember what the deal was with that perilous, think I just started dodging past him rather than to the side and it worked. I've literally just now started on Sword Saint Isshin, so I'm sure I'll be checking out your guide for that once I've died a few dozen times XD

Practice.

Took me a good 3-4 hrs to get through this on NG+. Throws (especially Isshin’s) feel super cheap with huge range. Huge fire AOE has wider hit boxes than you think. Solid challenge but not as fun as sword saint.
@fuzzybearbarian4 жыл бұрын
It's funny how people have different experiences, pretty much based on play style I imagine and how much practice you did in NG. For me, NG+ to NG7+ were so easy compared to my first play through. Took me 2 days at most to clear all 7, and that was without Kuro's charm for NG+. I had practiced deflecting so much in NG though - and making guides helped me learn all the fights back to front. That's one thing I really like about Sekiro - if you master deflecting it all becomes easy, and honestly this is my type of game but still, I think a lot of practice is the key. I'm guessing you got through the first NG really fast and haven't had the level of practice a lot of people normally would have by NG+.
@Gilamang4 жыл бұрын
I didn’t exactly race through NG, but I also didn’t repeat any successful boss battles. NG+ was easy up until Isshin of Ashina. New move set + more posture management just made it hard for me I guess. Also seemed like my poor old Xbox one struggled mightily with frame rates in this battle. All in, this was a terrific and very satisfying game. Now to find another game like this...
@fuzzybearbarian4 жыл бұрын
Well color me impressed because it's harder on console than on PC. Those extra 30 frames per second make a big difference.

So this is the end of the game? I read that there are many more bosses that I haven't faced yet. Maybe I chose the wrong path?
@fuzzybearbarian5 жыл бұрын
You chose the right path for one ending. I'd argue the best path for your first ending as imo this is the worst ending. There are 3 others (4 endings in total), but you have to play through for each of them and make different choices.

Activate it when the red kanji symbol has almost faded away. That's the perfect timing pretty much.
