Day 24 of 100 ✅ - Jer 2:13 - Psychologically, anyone who has an addiction is looking for satisfaction in things that cannot satisfy - Our ultimate source of satisfaction must be God not even good things. Cause sin isn't just wanting my bad things but wanting good things badly. 1. Generally, be a person of discipline. Don't let anything good or bad have free control over your life! - Rewire the propensity to look for acceptance in places where you shouldn't be looking for acceptance! - God is my source! - If you lack discipline in general, overcoming one habit won't stop other habits from coming. - If your cup is full, there won't be space for other liquids 2. Accountability - Secrecy and unnecessary privacy is the bedrock of sin - Put yourself in a position where you constantly and repeatedly have accounts - There are situations where you'll need others to bring you out. DAY 24. 100DOD HOW TO OVERCOME HABITS IV There is something simple but yet important and it is reflected in Jeremiah 2:13 which talks about neglecting the source and seeking satisfaction elsewhere (a temporary source). Most people think that by yielding to temptation/habits, it GOES, but in the end, it GROWS. Have a sense of control even over things you're not struggling with and it will begin to reflect on your habits/addictions. Everyone struggling must rewire their mind, don't just subject your body to any carnal satisfaction that pops in your way. Take your relationship with God seriously, if your cup is full, there won't be strange for strange liquids. 2. Accountability: Unecessary privacy/secrecy makes sin thrive and that's why accountability is very important. A problem shared is a problem half solved. Galatians 6:1.

Thank you pasteyy for these lessons! Points taken so far: 1. When you abandon a habit, do your research to be convinced in your mind that stopping is good. You may know that this is not good for you but your conviction is not strong enough hence the probability of falling back. 2. Secondly be accountable, have mature trustworthy friends that can hold you accountable when you fall. Shame/ guilt that comes from sin can be used to your advantage. Rather than continuing your sin in secret, have people you are opened and vulnerable to and use that guilt to ensure you are not caught in the sin again. Gal 6:1 3. Lastly, the fact that you fall back into the sin shouldn’t make you give up. The Bible says a righteous man may fall seven times but will rise again prob 24:16. So For example, if you go 20 days without watching porn or masturbating. But fall, don’t beat yourself up and say you can never come out. On the contrary that’s progress, GET BACK UP AND CONTINUE. The same way you get better at bad things, is THE SAME WAY YOU GET BETTER AT GOOD THINGS! 😇rom 6:18 #100DOD
