@EmmaThorneVideos God confusing language does make sense in the narrative if you realize the reason the Bible says he was angry. It is a misconception that God was angered because they were "building a tower to reach the heavens". In actuality he was upset because they were working together on something and he feared they could accomplish anything if they worked together. So he then destroyed what they were working on and confused their language to make it harder for them to cooperate with each other. I'm an atheist, so this to me explains one more example of him being an a*hole.

I love how these creationist depictions of dinosaurs always match Hollywood movies made a generation or so prior, rather than current scientific advancements. The "Creationist Museums" were still displaying paintings of dinosaurs as lumbering, tail-dragging overgrown lizards in the "Hot-Blooded Dinosaur Renaissance" Era (1980's and 90's), and now they're showing raptors as naked and scaly as they are in the Jurassic Park films, even though it's widely accept now that they had feathers.

Well that's an interesting point as if you read the original Hebrew you'll get the idea there is at least 2 floods. You also get the idea that the whole creation thing happened 'before". This isn't in the Bible perse but it's hinted at in the tenses used. There was this thing called the 'younger dryas' which seems so similar to the 'flood' ... @demarsouthard3620 With all due respect, that is not a question that the overwhelming majority of climate scientists are grappling with. The evidence that climate change is a result of human industrialization is overwhelming. We've never seen such a drastic change in climate over such a short period of time, and we can easily correlate the start of the change with increase in CO2. Given the weight of evidence at this point, anyone who refuses to accept the overwhelming consensus view is clearly irrational and not worth trying to reason with. There is some variation on exactly how bad the climate crisis is - if a tsunami was coming, there might be some disagreement as to whether the wave was 14ft or 15ft high, but the tsunami is still going to hit either way.

Creationists ignore one of the first rules of interpreting a historical document. That rule is that it must be understood from the perspective of those who it was written to. The people who would have been the recipients of the story of Noah's Ark would have imagined an ark that could only contain the animals they were familiar with. That means that they would not have imagined reindeer, pandas, penguins, polar bears, new world monkeys, etc. being on the ark. They probably didn't understand that fresh water aquatic life could not survive in a saltwater environment.

As someone who has worked in animal care before: it would take an ungodly amount of people to take care of all the animals supposed to be on the arc. I don't remember how many animals we had, but not far above 100. Four people spent their entire 40 hour work week taking care of these animals and only with four people we had time to do other work on the side. As soon as one was missing, the other three had to focus entirely on animal care or some animals would not have gotten fed that day or sick from a lack of hygiene. Now imagine only double the people taking care of several thousand animals. No phd or anything neccessary to declare the flood story a myth, just a couple months of unskilled labour. Also whilst it is technically "unskilled labour", it takes months of routine/habit building/experience to get to a point, where a person is fast enough to take care of even 5-10 animals that live very close to each other an require the exact same things. And that is whilst being instructed by people who already have the experience. I don't want to imagine the time it would take to learn how to take care of these animals from nothing and to then build the routine to be able to do so quickly enough for the other animals to also get fed that day.

The problem with saying the animals that lived under water didn't need to be on the ark is extremely flawed. If the waters rose and joined each other. How did the fresh water fish survive as there would be to much salt for them? Also due to the rain the salt water would also be diluted. So even the salt water fish wouldn't have enough salt. The salinity of the water would be changed so much that either group wouldn't be able to survive.

However I seem to remember that the date for life was revised as evidence has shown it happened a bit earlier than originally thought. Oh and the last time I looked the universe was 13 billion years old, but that may well be revised as more information comes to light... or dark. I will never understand how grown arse people need to believe in a fairy story just to feel comfortable with living, before the age of science and discovery perhaps, but now there is so much information to study. I have always found that people who don't believe in evolution really don't understand it and often have never read up on how basic evolution works, they always stumble and flounder when they try to explain the theory, the theory they think is wrong! Heck they normally don't even know what a scientific theory is as opposed to a hypothesis or an educated guess. 💐🦕🤔😼♥️☕🥖🧀🍅🍕🍝🇪🇺🇺🇦🌍💃⚔️👗🩰🌈🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍🌈💐

I remember having a book as a kid that I got really hyped for because it explained Dinosaurs and the Bible. It was called “Dinosaurs of Eden” and was by Ken Ham. One part of the book it argued that T. rex having sharp teeth wasn’t proof that it ate meat because Panda’s have sharp teeth too. I remember as a kid I thought that was kind of ignorant since we have found actual fossilized T. rex poop and healed bite wounds on other dinosaurs that could have only been made by a T. rex, showing it was indeed a Carnivore.

Ken also ignores the fact that Pandas are Omnivores who are just really addicted to bamboo- they can and will kill and eat other animals on occasion. I've heard all these arguments about how the flood could be true, but no one has ever answered the question of how the water covered the entire world, leaving no land, but not why that water wouldn't, y'know, freeze when it tried to cover the tallest mountains? Mt. Everest seems like it wouldn't like liquid water...

I’m a geologist and the plate tectonic section was pseudoscience at it finest. Plates can ‘rapidly’ move, but it’s still not actually fast. The Deccan Traps are a good example of what they’re kind of talking about. But not really. And the fast tectonics is debunked by the mid ocean ridges, which contain a record of the plate spreading by the magnetic dipoles.

None of these creationists have ever mucked out a stable, that's clear. Also, none of them who have the slightest understanding of engineering would put a prow like that on a vessel that lacks sails, oars or any other means of propelling itself through the water. The claim that the story must be true because a toy model is somewhat stable in a pool is just silly. But I was taught the story of Noah's Ark from childhood, so some little part of me still believes. I give that part a cookie and lovingly tell it to hush.

That guy Jerren(?) who says that most of the objections to the flood are mostly "ridicule," has not been paying attention. A: No evidence of massive flood deposits from such an event. B: The massive heat problem. C: Studies by naval architects from as early as the 16th century have demonstrated that a vessel designed as described in the Bible would not survive an ocean voyage of one month let alone last a year. I remember reading one by the famous Beaufort, dismissing the Ark as garbage. D: There is no break in the continuity of other civilizations around the world. E: How did things like sloths make it to the middle east and after the flood back to South America or the Kangaroos to and from Australia. And those are just the tip of the iceberg of actually noted problems. As to the ridicule, of course it is justifiably there.

I am a Christian, and strangely enough was involved in a sister ministry when Ken Ham was first setting up the Creation Museum in the early 2000’s. We were only taught arguments that supported their theories. We weren’t really encouraged to look too closely beyond what we were told. Since then I have deconstructed, and no longer believe that the Bible is to be taken literally.
