this episode was SO special, especially the last scene with mon mothma saying THIS is the rebellion.

Mon Mothma's story in Andor is about trying to form an organized Rebellion, and this is really where that story ends for her because this is when she publicly defects from the Empire and calls the Rebellion together. And since Andor takes place at the same time as Rebels, I don't see any other way for that particular story to end than to crossover with this episode. It's honestly a weird thing because they've started telling a story that's already been finished in Rebels

And so we see the birth of the Rebel Alliance of A New Hope fame. And our Rebel crew/ family are pivotal in that moment, which is exceptionally cool. The music at the end when all the rebel alliance ships turn up is beautiful - it gets me every time: really moving. It’s interesting that Kanan is not on the Ghost with the rest of the crew this episode. Not sure why this is the case, but this was presumably a deliberate choice by Dave Filoni for this episode for some reason. And it’s Genevieve O'Reilly that voices Mon Mothma here in the Rebels series, just as she is the actor for Mon Mothma in Andor.

This is the one event I think Andor simply can't skip which means that this will be mentioned in Andor Season 2. My personal hope is that they show how Mon Mothma got off Corusant and then the next time we hear from her it is when she sends out the transmission to stand together she gave at the end of the episode. Also I want to point out that her last speech in the Senate was about the Gorman Massacre which is probably also the final blow for her and the reason she left the Senate. You probably don't remember it but in Andor she mentions the Gormans multiple times, mostly because their very existence is under threat because of some laws in the making at that point in time that would cut off their supply lines (including food). You can see how that will eventually lead to demonstrations against the empire and that will result in the Massacre. I am just curious if we will maybe even see the Massacre or if it will be more like Spellhouse (the attack we didn't see) in Season 1 of Andor

being the third season of the show, having started at just 5 years prior to the events of A New Hope, and considering it's been some time since, I am surprised this is the "start" of the Rebel Alliance. I always imagined the organization having existed longer than a couple of years...

Prior to episode IV it's nice to see Gold leader into action... Mon Mothma from SW: the clone wars (saw her few times at the side of Senator Amidala) to return of the Jedi.. Most prominent figure in the Rebel Alliance 💪

I'm going to be really shocked if they don't show and iteration of this episode in season 2 of Andor because of Mon Mothma is a huge part of the show. I think they would have to show how she became a key figure in the alliance starting.

Fun fact: Mon Mothma is obviously a superhero. Cause her first name and last name starts with the same letter. You know like Piter Parker or Stephen Strange.

The original actress who played Mon Mothma in Return of the Jedi said in interviews that her name means "Moon Mother". Definitely very superhero-esque.

Mon Mothma going from the most important yet unknown character from the original trilogy to now getting so much back story. Not gonna lie even watching the originals like 20 times as a kid I couldn't even have told you her name before Andor. Started Rebels a few weeks ago myself just finished it last night. So many frustrating moments in the extended universe basically filler content or characters making dumb choices for the sake of extending run time of stories. The inconsistency of force powers and the technology in the universe. Still enjoyable but I have come to expect much smarter stories in my shows. Even though the animated shows are more for a younger audience I dunno if that excuses them being lazy and following old tropes. I never could get into clone wars. Think I managed like 7 episodes of season 1. The narrators voice alone just puts me off right out the gate. But Rebels s1 started off kinda rough too but got rather good overall. The Bad batch has been pretty decent as well despite them having such a high failure rate on their missions. Only about halfway through season2 on that though
