Emmylou is a stand alone legend. Her angelic voice, on stage demeanor, incredible work ethic and, not to mention, her extraordinary beauty, makes her (in my humble opinion) one of the two, truly great female progressive country/bluegrass/folk artists ever to grace the stage. The other is Alison Krauss. A voice of pure shimmering crystal that gives a plaintive and melancholic version of a classic song. Simply stunning. I had the privilege of watching her in concert in the late 70's at the Glasgow Apollo - around midway through her performance I audaciously sauntered to the front of the stage & threw my Scottish scarf in her direction. She quietly picked up the scarf and wore it for the remainder of the concert. If only Smartphones were invented then....

I adore her but have never met her. Though seen her in concert on the Wreaking Ball tour in Nashville. 3 words sum her up. Brains, Beauty and Talent. Her beauty and talent are unmistakable. Listening to her talk over the years it also becomes just as obvioius she is also a very intelligent person. She very careful and precise in her word choice when talking about songs, music, her two daughters or any other subject..
