Let's not forget, Vidis was a centreback in an era where strikers were ACTUAL, ELITE strikers. Even some midtable clubs & on rare occasions, bottom clubs, had ELITE strikers playing for them. @@narrow3601 It's been a long time since a saw the video, and I remember that he was very needy to put Vidic on top, and when the creator/narrator isn't objective, you always have to be a bit sceptical. Most of the times, and it also happened here they tend to pick out numbers and arguments that only work in the favour of the side they want to win. I bet when a Liverpool/ Van Dijk supporter also made a video, Van Dijk would come out as the best. This guy obviously isn't neutral at all so that sets the tone of the video. At 3:17 he even says 'WE' played Barca, like cmon...

Another hypothetical: Vidić not getting his knee badly injured in a dubious challenge ... Utd probably progress to the knock-out rounds of the CL, and very possibly do better than losing the Premiership on goal difference... Vidić likely gets another Premiership medal, and with a little bit of luck, the CL. Not only that, but when Vidić returned to playing, he wasn't the same big strong guy anymore. It set his career back big time and he never fully regained that peak physical condition. Having a 100% Vidić for longer results in more trophies for the club, and that results in attracting more of the top players - and for the right reasons!!

Recency bias is huge these days because of stats and social media.
