My experience (so far) with Tai Chi. Just celebrated my three year anniversary for a kidney transplant. The transplant kidney given to me was from my wife of 35 years. Wow, Still amazed every time I think about it. Anyway, the immunosuppressant drugs had a much greater effect on my well being than I expected. Started Tai Chi in Jan of 23. Haven't missed a day. Amazed by how much Tai Chi has improved my mental, physical and psychological health in ways not easy for me to explain. Not sure how this happens when you move at the speed of a turtle. (I guess that may be why the turtle beats the rabbit (no, seriously)) The specific method I'm learning is 64 Movements of T'ai chi ch'uan, Guang Ping Yang Style. I’m about half way through learning the form. You can learn a few moves and loop them starting your first lesson. It is a combination of breathing as well as moving hands and feet in ways that take your body through a greater range of motion and coordination.

In 2010 I had to have my aortic valve replaced because I was born with a bicuspid valve and it had gone stenosis. I was going to die of sudden cardiac arrest and I didn’t know it until my heart murmur had gotten so loud that my boyfriend could hear it at night when I was sleeping. I was given a referral to a cardiologist by a walk-in clinic I went to for a sinus infection. When the cardiologist saw the results of the echo cardiograph, he scheduled me with a surgeon immediately and I had the valve replaced three weeks later. I was 60 at the time and in perfect health taking no prescription medication and eating a healthy diet and walking almost every day. I had been extremely interested in energy healing and had taken several workshops to have some experience with what it felt like and how to do it. The night before my surgery, I had a long conversation with a healer friend who was born with the natural ability to see and move energy. She blessed the doctor and the entire staff who was going to be working on my and filled the entire operating theatre with White Light. She told me she would be with me in the operating room, with her hands holding my head to support my heart while it was screaming because it didn’t know what was being done to it. Even though it was stopped and my body temperature was drastically lowered, my body knew what was going on and it was being traumatized. When I woke up, I was being attended by two nurses in a darkened room and they were about to take the tube out of my throat. As they gently pulled the tube from my throat, I immediately threw up and they were expecting it and cleaned me up immediately. Even though it’s been 13 years since the surgery, I still have some PTSD and get stressed out easily by things and situations I had no problem with before. When COVID came along, I did a tremendous amount of research about the shots they wanted everyone to take. I had not taken a flu shot in 40 years and I wasn’t about to take this one. I did a lot of study on how to strengthen my immune system and what I found out was the importance of having an alkaline overall system, which required me to give up sugar, rice and pasta and most breads. I now start every day with the juice of one lemon in water that I distill myself and put through a Vitalizer to restructure it and add back the minerals that were removed by distilling it. I would have to say I’m very healthy, especially after I quit all the pharmaceuticals that I was prescribed all the years after the surgery until the World Shutdown, especially the blood thinner which was causing internal bleeding of my veins and causing blood to pool in the heels of my feet. I haven’t been since one day since the Covid started and I refused to wear a mask unless I was Forced to in public.
@joliabags Жыл бұрын
What I was saying at the very end, is that I haven’t been sick one day since I stopped all my pharmaceuticals (which included Zoloft for my anxiety and panic attacks that came on after the surgery). I am the healthiest and clearest of mind since I have alkalized my body. The grocery store is Killing Us and our nonfood choices which we choose to put in our bodies is Killing us. The best thing you can do is learn how to meditate and take the journey inward to discover who and why you have chosen to incarnate into your physical body and enjoy being of service to others and support your fellow travelers in the mysterious journey through Life.

A couple hundred years ago they didn't have a way to measure radio waves. DO they say that this means radio waves didn't exist then? The close mindedness of some scientists and medical practitioners astonishes me. They seem to take something not being proven as proof against it's existence.

There was research done that split First Responder Medics into 2 groups. 1 group was given absolutely no instructions. The other group was told to speak only positively from the second they made contact with patients. Researchers followed both groups on their daily shifts. Results were obvious: the second, positive group's patients did statistically better in all areas of healing. Do not know if this research impacted standard training for everyone in medicine, but I was profoundly impacted by this study that I learned when I was in undergrad psychology and still growing in the knowledge of health and healing. I would appreciate you disseminating this research and advocating for its use as standard practice. It should not have to be requested by the patient ❤.

Actually, it’s not crazy at all but reductionism makes it hard to see beyond these divisions in medicine. As a bedside clinician in an academic medical system, discussing comprehensive bio psychosocial medical principles especially in pain, psychiatric, and autonomic pathophysiology is received quite well by patients who then tell my colleagues, which influences my fellow doctors more than what I do. I employ Osteopathic (NeuroMusculoSkeletal) Medicine principles to highlight a conversation about integrating physiology and anatomy as it relates to functioning in a conversation about a disease, it’s treatment, and an approach to health. Energy Medicine uses a different language but translating it is undeniably logically. Glad you do to. And patients / people feel better talking about things they can understand

I’m extremely empirical science leaning, but I used to practice the Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) religion and I was chanting the Maha mantras for 1.5 hours everyday, and I experienced a benefit of improved mental health, purpose, focus. The whole intention behind the mantra was not to be selfish and happy though, it was to engage in devotion to God. I think secular minded people would not work well with this spiritual practice, and I don’t know the science of chanting mantras, peer reviewed papers etc, but it absolutely worked anecdotally speaking and subjectively speaking. I don’t do any of these chantings anymore, and my anxiety levels are extremely high. But I just keep reading science books. I’ve been traumatised by organised religion, and find some of the religious language very triggering. But I find it really fascinating that it worked for a certain time period. Journalling helps a small amount though.

there's a lot to discuss here. with the anecdote about your patient being calm after receiving physical touch. we know that touch creates bonds and feelings of safety through the release of neuro transmitters. there's no need for this concept of 'energy' as an additional force within us when we already know the scientific reasons for things. and those reasons are fascinating and useful enough without invoking something like 'energy healing.'
