Engine hoist winch repair and modification...

Just a relatively short video about appropriating a bolt as a spacer to a small change that i undertook while repairing the store bought winch after it broke during it`s last use... I know that the vid ain`t all that great, but i decided to not insist on perfectionism with my videos... It just makes no sense with my current setup and general video making skills...
I cut down a whole lot of yapping, some of which i wanted to leave in, but that would have doubled the video duration by just having a segment regarding collets and the neglect i see online when people just chuck those in the holder as if it weren`t a precision system...
I`m also making a stock shelf for the stockroom, so that will most likely be the next upload, but don`t hold me to it, i have a bunch of crap in the editing and some of it actually may get posted before i`m even done with the shelving unit, not to even speak of editing of that jumble of footage...
Anyway, i wanted to put the Emco FB2 on the screen, as i seem to see a distinct lack of representation of that little machine, and it`s a nice machine... Sure, more of an add-on to the Emco lathes, like Stefan`s previous maximat, but they come as a stand-alone unit as well... I also wanted to post it because the headstock of that machine uses ``special`` oil, and there was a major lack of information regarding which oil to use, when i first got the FB2 some few years ago... I maybe even posted on one of the forums just to put some official info out there, but the ``DTE 25 ultra`` oil from mobil was mentioned nowhere when i needed that info...

Oh, don`t even get me started on 4.4 grade bolts... Yikes... But the baby Emco is quite the little machine... One could say somewhat anemic - the motor is really underwhelming, if i recall right, it`s around 0.20kw... And the head has a single large, fiber reinforced plastic gear, which is prone to damage if mishandled, but a good weak link safety mechanism. Other than that and the loud gearbox, the general machine design is great... Very simple yet quite rigid for the size, the round column has a nice fat key bolted down in 4 places and pinned in place in a tight slot, so if set up properly, the head travel has minimal effect on the x/y spindle position that often affects many round col. mills... And she loves climb milling... Cuts remarkably well on the climb stroke and always moans about conventional cuts, tho, you can overdo it, the leadscrews however tight are still not ballscrews and the climb milling is only allowed by the good fit of components and oil shear resistance, which is great, but again, not a 0 clearance mechanism... The austrians really did a remarkable job with this little masterpiece... And this one is in quite the condition,not virgin, but mostly unused - even the oem paint-job is well preserved...
