Fantastic sound as usual from Euge. I think the main "secret" of this sound lies in the carefully microphoned cabinets and the "real deal" amplifiers. It's still somehow "rounded" than using 100% plugins, no matter how good the current plugins are. Although in a good mix there is undoubtedly very little difference between the two.

Sounding great, love the opening track. For some reason, parts of it reminded me of Coroner, mostly the arpeggios in the solo. Engl make some great amps, with useful features such as the tube monitor LEDs so you can diagnose any tube problems easily. Great demo!

Euge your playing is phenomenal, You could make any amp sound killer I like this amp But I’m still a Marshall user and I Use my Laney Gh100L with an sd1 for more gain and to tighten it up, But for really high Gain this amp nicks it out of the park.

The GH100 is such a great amp. I had one and sold it, as my H&K Duotone did the hot British thing better to my ears. That being said, I used to use the MI Audio to Megalith Delta to push the amp into high gain, as opposed to using the drive function on the amp. Such a killer setup!

i bought the Engl VS and Retro Tube 100 amp plugins from Plugin Alliance when they were on sale cause thats as close as im gonna get to these amps lol they sound great both physical and vst versions

I think it’s just a modern hi-gain sound in general. But ENGL was probably one of the inspirations. I need to ask Thomas the next time we meet. Thanks!

Nice where do you find it sits against your fave engl the fireball 100? I compared the 2 recently the smolski was way tighter and punchier better for fast riffs but the fireball was better for huge chunky slower riffs it had a little better depth but felt sluggish in the response and got mushy with fast riffs were the smolksi kept up with everything and stayed clear and precise

Nice playing and nice demo - thank you very much! I am in thoughts to buy an Engl (having a JVM410H now) because I like to have the Engl sound as a complement. And it is this amp and the Marty Friedman which caught my attention. Could you briefly describe the difference? This amp sounds a bit more muddy to me, is this right? I have no dealers in a 500 km circle, where I could test those, so any opinion is appreciated. Thx 🙂
