Hi this is Jack who also teaches. I'm British but live in the Czech Republic. Sometimes I use Skype and teach a girl in the Czech Republic and also have conversations with a teenage girl in Moscow though I'm hardly teaching her as her English is so good she sounds like a native speaker. I find on line very useful as I can send them all sorts of things from the internet to embellish a lesson. I'm 80 but still active as I play in 4 rock bands in Prague.

The phrase "get to the bottom" means to thoroughly investigate or understand the underlying cause, reason, or truth behind a situation, problem, or mystery. It implies a deep or complete understanding of the issue at hand and leaving no stone unturned until the root of the problem is uncovered. It can also refer to finding the underlying meaning or motivation behind someone's actions or behavior.

This is a great definition of the phrase. Where did you find this definition?

Listening is definitely not an issue whether it's british, American, australian or canadian accent I totally understand them without turning on the subtitles or adjusting the speed of a certain videos...it's just the speaking skills that holding me back the most..... hope this year i would be able to improve my level.
