Enjoying the Cabin Life in the Mountains - Hiking on Snow and Ice

I wake up early to catch the sunrise while gradually feeling the heat of the fire in the wood stove. Living the cabin life for me is to take it slow and enjoy every task at hand.
Being off-grid, this cabin isn’t connected to the electrical grid and neither does it have running water, which means there’s a bit more work involved. But even just doing menial tasks like fetching water and splitting wood for kindling can be enjoyable.
After preparing the wood stove for the next guests I clean up and start hiking towards the car. It was a cold night, so most lakes have frozen solid. Hiking on the snow and ice is a lot of fun and I really enjoy the crisp sound, especially when it’s quiet and almost no wind.
The cabin is called Haakonsbu and is run by The Norwegian Trekking Association (DNT - Den Norske Turistforening). They are available to rent for both locals and tourists.

Awesome video, again amazing location! Though, I'm confused why they stock that cabin with with wood that burns like PAPER. To bad they don't stocked it with maple... you'd have a fire all night and still have coals in the morning. Its by far the best burning wood. At least where I come from. North West, Washington. USA. Thanks Daniel! Where I live, at 69 degrees north (think Nortwestern Passage north of mainland Canada) there are no maple trees, mainly birch. There are some maple trees in the southern parts of Norway, but they are mostly considered as ornamental.
