Ha! Very accurate. It would be nice to have a longer one on this (yeah, I’m the five) that digs deeper into the ways in which the two combine. It’s honestly the healthiest relationship I’ve ever been in. We have such great synergy, with the right amount of spark. Both of us want to progress in life and be the best versions of ourselves we can and that striving really pulls us together.

So you're the one that wants longer videos ;) Jk - I would love to make these wayyyy longer as it takes me so long to edit them down to this "bite-size" viewing experience. Glad to hear you're in the healthy space of this type combination!

I’m type 5, and I will meet type 8 next week! So excited but also nervous (I’m Indonesian he is American) Edit: I met him in Bali! We had so much fun, it was wholesome, and deep conversation, talk about philosophy, meaning of life, etc. Update: he is ghosting after a month😞

I always say that 5/8 pairings are awsome, and ironically, very spicy even for 5s as you say. Great video!

Yes on the meaningful debate! Married to a five for 15 years, and it can be such a treat. We’ve been able to accomplish way more together than I could have ever done by myself. He doesn’t box me in with things that don’t make solid sense. And he’s taught me instead of road rage you can memorize their license plate, 😂. It can be challenging when you both need softness and permission to be emotional, stress often strikes both at the same time so no one has reserve to be vulnerable around the same time. Fantastic video 😊

Great video! Thank you for putting this together. We love your videos and share them to others after they've taken the Enneagram test. We are both on the second marriage with our kids raised. I'm an 8 divorced from a 2. My wife is a 5 divorced from a 9. We both have come to the table with a certain approach to life that compliments each other including the simple things such as cleanliness and being on time. Life can be sobering on how things turn out so different than what was initially anticipated. You look around and that's pretty much the pattern. There's no reason to play victim to any of it but move forward in a healthy way. Treating each other in a respectful way especially in times when we disagree is key. We value competency, adventure, growth, knowledge, security, autonomy and most importantly...humor. I must say the most exciting part of our lives is drinking our coffee at the counter each day and talking about anything that comes to mind. And sometimes loudly with a lot of foul language as we head off to work acting professional all day. 😀

I'm a female INTJ 5w4 and a guy who suddenly interested me is an INTJ 8w9. This pairing sounds super grandiose, lol. No, I mean this is the truth that I'm attracted to 8s confidence, but I find them too emotionally cold and unreasonably rude with people (it's irritating). This is the only person in my environment, wich is too emotionally cold even for ME

How did I miss this one? 5/8 relationship here. Very accurate - good job! Curious about your take on how the 8's disintegration to 5 impacts the relationship?
@YouveGotaType
@YouveGotaType 9 ай бұрын
I guess it snuck past those subscriber alerts 👀 and thanks so much! It's tough to sum up that disintegration connection, because sometimes it can be a source of empathy/intimacy, and other times it can be like the 8 trying to fix the 5 as a way of avoiding fixing their own "disintegrated" traits.

3:15 I refuse to acknowledge that True Detective has more than one season, no matter what you say. It has just the first season, in all its glory. Anything after that is not true True Detective (:

@@YouveGotaType I'm not the biggest fan of ascribing personality types to fictional characters, but just out of curiosity, if you don't mind: what types/wings would you say Ruzt and Marty are? 🤔

Sounds like this would work as a 5(F) & a 8(M), not so much a 5(M) & 8(F). I've also watched the 5 & 7, and the 5 & 9 videos and it seems one of the issues for the 5 in all of these pairings, is even making themselves known to the others, never mind the fact that they're intellectual. How are the 7, 8 or 9 supposed to know this about the 5? Odds are they don't even know the 5 exists. And on the off chance that they do know of them, they probably only see the 5 as whatever their profession is. They're probably as clueless on how to make contact with the 5 outside of professional circumstances as the 5 is about making contact with them!
