Eastern Naga People's Organization Has Been Demanding Frontier Nagaland Since 2010 & After A Decade The Government Of India Has Proposed An Autonomous Council For Eastern Region, Which Consists Of 6 District.Over The Announcement Of Autonomous Council, The Eastern Sumis Residing At Shamator & Kiphire Have Been Raising Their Voice Demanding To Merge With Zunheboto. For the record, Sumis residing in Shamator District do not have a seperate village or jurisdiction. They are a part of Sukiur Village (B Khel) and the land belongs to Tikhir Naga Tribe. The Tikhirs of Sukiur 'A' and Sumis of Sukiur 'B' have been coexisting peacefully ever since the Sumis came to live in Tikhir Land in the late 1940s. It is so disheartening that the inhabitants of Sukiur B Khel opted to merge with Zunheboto District, leaving behind the Tikhir people with whom they have lived together for so many years. As people, they may merge with their own folk. However, as the land belongs to Tikhir Tribe since time immemorial, the land cannot be merged at any cost. Even if Southern Nagas of Manipur are allowed to live permanently in Tikhir land, their colony or khel will never merge with their District in Manipur. Hope good sense prevail.

Everything will remain same only the demarcation will be changed for administration purpose like Erstwhile Dimapur changing into Dimapur, chumu & Niuland. Regarding the Manipur Nagas the Nagaland government should implement RIIN Registered Indigenous inhabitants of Nagaland prior to 1963. They can’t own land here in Nagaland. Comparing Eastern Sumis with Manipur Nagas is so wrong. Most of the Manipur Nagas came here after statehood in the name of brotherhood (undergrounds) but Eastern Sumis migration history is way long even before Nagaland obtain statehood, just because Eastern Sumis are called Eastern doesn’t mean that their territorial lands belongs to rest Eastern tribe. Even ENPO which excluded Eastern sumis is new organisation but Eastern people follow ENPO as their head organisation. Imagine comparing Manipur Nagas with Dimapur based Eastern tribe villages like Showba village. It will be so wrong. Isn’t!

And as per today’s meeting it seems they had a positive discussion but the outcome was kept withheld so let’s hope for the best.

There are deprivations meted to sumis of kiphire in the preamble submitted to GoI by ENPO which I believe we cannot blame all tribes of ENPO but there are certain tribal brothers that is playing the key role and brainwashing the rest of ENPO tribes as if the sky is clear. What I want every person reading this comment to know is that, there are some resolutions in the preamble of ENPO that needed to be justified by certain tribe in ENPO to all the nagas. Otherwise sumis are peace loving people who long for peace and harmony among nagas across the state and beyond. That is the reason why the Sumis of Sukiur B Khel were asking for NOC from the Landowners (Tikhirs of Sukiur A) for recognition of Sukiur B as a separate village. As per God's prophecy, the present arrangement of Sukiur A & B is to be maintained for all eternity. Hence, the Tikhirs and Sumis of Sukiur village will continue to co-exist peacefully like our forefathers did in the past. Manipur Naga Tribes living in Dimapur/Chümoukedima cannot merge their colony/khel with their District in Manipur. Likewise, Tikhir land cannot be merged at any cost.

It’s that they have to merged with Zunheboto district for administration purpose like Erstwhile Dimapur re demarcated into Present Dimapur, Chumu & Niuland. If ENPO don’t want to include Eastern sumis , they should exclude sumi population & geography area too under Autonomous council package and let them join Present Nagaland under zunheboto district.
