The King of tenors, "Caruso" my grandfather was born in 1880, he saw him and heard him twice in Chicago, where Caruso rarely sang, but he told me, nobody since then was in his opinion greater. He attended opera's often, until the early 1970's when in his 90's and had failing health, but always told me Caruso sounded far greater in the house compared to the old Acoustic recordings of him, that they lost some of his over tones.
