I know a lot of people are going to say it’s like sacrilege but one of the best oils you can use on any raw high carbon steel to keep it from rusting it’s just a light spray of WD-40. That’s exactly what it was made for is water displacement. It literally pushes the water away from the surface of the steel and leaves you with a very light coating of mineral oil. So while there may be more highbrow sword oils out there, this is a very inexpensive and easy to apply solution… You can just wipe the sword off with a microfiber cloth hold it vertically and just from about 12 inches away give a light spray with the WD-40 from both sides as if you were applying a dusting of spray paint spray paint. That’s all it takes.

is this UK legal? as per the offensive weapons act 2019 it says curved swords longer then 50cm are illegal to even possess at home, unless they're made by traditional methods by hand OR made before 1954

Lots of dumb laws in the UK. Here is the states you can bike ride carrying one on you’re back in most states.

I wouldn't say its a dumb law to not be able to carry a sword around, should be used for training in a safe space or display.

Good review thank you. Yet this is a so controversial sword in the US. People either like it or not. I understand it’s a beast. I hear it’s not sharp clunky weighty etc. Others love it. Either way CS warrior katana is controversial. My take… I like what appears to be it’s durability. Like I said before people usually complain and say it’s about as sharp as a butter knife. I ordered one and want to see how it compares to my raptor by hanwei.
@biccytrollox8 ай бұрын
Aesthetically I prefer my Hanwei blade(real hamon,etc) but the furniture is superior on my Cold Steel. Plus if the fit ever hit the shan I'd want my CS on my belt. It's a beater so can be sharpened well without having to worry about damaging hamon, etc😅

In the 80s they were made in Japan. Now they are made in China. Still good quality, but not laminated, and different steel.

ITS NOT A BLOOD GROOVE. As someone who has owned a Martial Arts shop for over 16 years you should know this. Anyone in the Sword World will tell you PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DONT CALL IT A BLOOD GROOVE, the correct term is Fuller or in Japanese it’s a Bohee
@EnsoMartialArts Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the info man, most people will call it a blood groove, so to make it easier we will call it a blood groove.

@@EnsoMartialArts Its a pet peeve of people in the sword world. The only reason for the Bohee or Fuller is for weight reduction, nothing more, nothing less. Anyone who says differently really don’t know what they’re talking about. I do know what you mean though, most people don’t know and there is a lot of misinformation out there. Chen 🙏🏼

@@highlanderNC-mr8fe I've had mine approx 20 years. It's a little heavier than the average even with the bo-hi, came in need of a light sharpening, doesn't hold an edge for too long & is only through-tempered but is still a nice piece of steel.The furniture is different than this one, with a very nice dragon tsuba & spiral kashira though.
