Also wine is not a very strong antiseptic, so watered down wine would work even less...... the reason wine, meads and beer were popular is because it cleaned the water and you couldn't get sick like you can from dirty water. "So long as it doesn't interfere with your family and life"....so when he's dead at 50, 60 + (which is still young btw his kids might just be starting a family, grandchildren etc.) from cirrhosis or cancer because of it I guess his family will say "well he put us first and he was always there."
