I remember Mark when he began his career with the Melbourne Knights. As a Sydney Olympic fan, I admired his talents. I have never forgotten his efforts for Leeds Utd, the Socceroos at the 2006 World Cup. I can see why he’s chosen to now live in Croatia. I’ve travelled there and it’s a fabulous country. It has a deep history all the way back from the Ancient Greeks (I saw a map in Croatia written in Greek showing it’s ancient past) and right up to its communist history and recent wars with Serbia. Let’s hope the region remains peaceful for good. Hopefully Mark can make an appearance on TV if he returns to Australia during any A-League games.

Nice 1 Joey getting Viduka on. Had him on the back of my home Leeds strongbow shirt. Someone who was so stocky ,he was great for keeping the ball and great goal scorer. I will never forget that game vs. Liverpool scoring 4 goals. Thank you Joey I'm a big fan of your channel. 👍

Fantastic to hear from the great man again, and if you read this Viduka , all l have to say is Thank you for the memories....

@@jase77. Both were superb but what a lot of less analytical spectators wouldn't be able to se is how Viduka would draw players away from the penalty box area and towards the corner opening up the goal face for other strikers, he did this so often resulting in wins even in matches where he didn't score.

As a Rangers fan, big Mark was one of the players from the other end of the fence I wished played for my team. He was a great big menacing forward. Great with the ball at his feet, and great at linking up with players around him. He would pin defenders and he would fight like a dog for the ground him and the defender would try an occupy. What a player he was.
@The_BlueyonderАй бұрын
He gave up and cried at half time against Inverness.
@roo1773Ай бұрын
He would bring wingers into the game cos he could hold it up and flick it in their path. A defenders nightmare cos if you have him a little space he had the ability to go from back to goal to facing the goal in a split second and drive a shot into goal.

What a great podcast. I really enjoyed this one. I had no idea he was a historian haha! I grew up watching V-Bomber playing for Australia and Leeds. What a man to lead the line for Australia, we were very lucky to have such a quality player. Big, strong, good one on one, involved other players and could find the net. Good memories. I always wondered what happened to him as I never really heard about him anymore. But so happy to hear he is living his best life in Croatia. Looking forward to part 2.
