If you would have stayed on the Yankee Fork road, and followed it through, you would have ended up in downtown Challis. It's called the "Custer Motorway".

Everette Haire - thanks for watching and for your very kind comments! Quite an honor to be mentioned in the same sentence as Ken Burns.

I agree with another commenter, wonderful video. Really enjoyed it except for the louder than needed background noise (music). Curious about your concern about the brakes. I assume you were in 1st (low) gear. Not being there, maybe steeper than it looked. Overall, beautifully done.

Dont worry about going 50 ft off trail. They will clear the tree, the grass will grow back in one season, and nobody will ever know a few vehicles went around the tree. Worst case scenario the forrest service will put a big rock to block people from going around the stump. This is not a big deal.

@7:16 Your leaders want to come in and mind all this country. Open pit ⚒ miming. You can you can thank the people that live there and a mayor back in the day for making This and what it is today. it's NOT a national park otherwise you can't hunt onit.

I loved the music. We live in Idaho, and this area is one of our very favorite places. We visit it annually, staying at Redfish Lake Lodge, near Stanley. This year (2024) was a difficult one, as many forest fires tragically burned areas around Stanley.
