Forget getting paid, it’s hard enough getting discovered. There’s so much content out there, it’s hard to find those music gems in the vast sea of noise. I don’t even know what makes me like one song over another, so curators, Top 40 and AI continue to fail me. So I just bang my head against the wall and grind. 20+ new songs a day, 7000+ auditions a year. It’s a slog going through the 98 out of 100 that aren’t worth listening to completion. And yet I somehow serendipitously find ~35 gems a year, in completely random order and often from obscure artists who’ll never achieve a breakthrough. It makes musical discovery by brute force totally worth it.

How is it that every single comment you leave on this channel is an absolute banger? 🤣 All very good points. And kudos to you for putting in the effort. Just speaking for myself here (this is Dennis), I mostly just worry about the fact that normies aren't getting exposed to much of anything good, and the entire industry is training the populace to not give a crap who made the music. That hurts us all -- even those of us who are willing to climb mountains to find good new tunes.

@@AudioUnleashed I appreciate quality in comments too. Perhaps you’re just cultivating the right kind of audience. ;)

I think my prior comment bounced because I included a link to Amir’s professional history. So here is the comment without the link: You guys realize that Amir has been working with cutting edge audio and video engineering stuff since the 1980s. His teams have won Emmy Awards for their technical contributions to the entertainment industry. And he was the head of audio and video technology at Microsoft? I don’t mean this as an appeal to authority so much as context for his AV engineering work which has decades of plaudits. That’s not to say he is infallible. No one is. And he has acknowledged mistakes in his measurements when they have been made. But he is pretty experienced with lots of these topics. Using the Jedi metaphor, he has built a few light sabers in his day. Again this is not specifically an appeal to authority but since half the discussion was an ad hominem argument it seems relevant to know the persons areas of expertise and experience?

Dennis here: We REALLY need to figure out why these external links are getting bounced, because nothing I can see in the moderation settings leads me think they should be. Oh well. Thanks for the context, though!

@@AudioUnleashedHey Dennis. I’ve run into the exact same thing many times with comments with links attached being removed. I think it’s just one of KZbin’s silly rules to keep more control on their platform. Some links get through and others don’t. The thing is that it’s often links to other YT content….so, WTF? 🤷♂️😂🤦♂️

@@NickP333 Sorry, the “do not like” was not directed at you in any way. Do not like that policy! It’s not clear, it’s not well-advertised, and it creates the perception that we delete comments!

I think Amir was part of the Zune development. So maybe not a speaker. But I think he was part of audio development.
@j.livingston22015 ай бұрын
Not necessarily relevant. 1) Amir lead a team of engineers who worked on developing the Zune (in some capacity). Amir himself didn’t do the work. But more importantly, the Zune isn’t a loudspeaker. These are totally different products. Amir has never designed a loudspeaker. At best he has provided measurements for those who have. His role in the development of the Zune doesn’t equate to engineering expertise in loudspeaker design. Conflating these two is a mistake. 2) The Zune failed miserably. The only claim to fame is it was an alternative to the iPod. So citing that as some plea to authority is probably not a good idea.

I think Dr Toole may take issue with your assertions regarding his work on speaker measurement
