@@cathwalsh9921 Well basically nowadays you can get regular dairy and lactose free dairy that contains added lactase enzyme (or you get regular dairy and eat a lactase pill before consuming it)... and A2 dairy that contains bit different proteins. When feeling well enough to be sure nothing else is confusing the situation and want to have clarity you might consider trying those different dairy types. In general lactose free has same proteins like regular. So if reacting to it its not a problem with lactose but might be with proteins and might make sense to try A2 dairy if available/affordable. I have multiple sensitivities with mostly IBS / joint / skin manifestations and its complicated ... so in general i go with trial and see if there is difference after eliminating certain things.

It's not the dairy itself that is the problem... There are three issues that people may have with cow's milk. One is the lactose, as only certain populations are genetically adapted to digest it into adulthood. Another is the size of the fat globules; because cows are so much larger than we are, the fat in their milk is a much larger particle than the fats in our own milk, and some - particularly babies - can have issues digesting those globules. The third is the protein type. Most dairy cows are type A1, and many people don't tolerate it well. If you can get milk from a dexter or a miniature jersey, you'll get the type A2 which pretty much everyone can handle. Also if you can get milk from one of these smaller cows, you also solve the fat globule problem, as those are much smaller in these smaller cows. If your daughter can find it, she can also try goat or sheep milk. I have never heard of anyone unable to tolerate either of these, except for those who just can't stomach the smell and taste of the goat's milk.

The REAL discription is "DRINK", not MILK or JUICE. Whenever watet is added to ANY fruit or vegetable to make it drinkable, it's called "A DRINK". Lot's of people are confused as to the definition of MILK, JUICE, and DRINK.

Thankfully I got a spot here in FL that sells raw milk for "animal use only" but its the same exact half or whole gallon jug like it comes in at stores that I buy. It's pricey at $15/gallon but I only limit myself to 2 cups per day to last me a week. It's so incredibly creamy and good.

I've always had a particular distaste for foods that are intended to "replace" other foods. The vegans have been the worst at doing this - creating abominations like "fakin' bacon" and other meat and dairy substitutes because they are simply craving the real thing. However, to be fair, we are seeing this same thing in the carnivore community as well. Just take a look around for carnivore "bread", "desserts", and other equally crazy replacements. The human brain tends toward not accepting reality. I respect the attitude "If I want a piece of bread or bacon, I'll just eat a freakin' bacon sandwich." But I respect even more those who accept their own intentions and are honest with themselves.

What source (link please) did you use to find HFCS & Canola/Soy oil in Blue Diamond milk? It's not on the ingredients list and I can find no reference to it online. In fact, I can only find references that none of these things are found in Blue Diamond almond milk. And, while .5 gallons of BD almond milk contains ~ 32 almonds and is more than a handful, it's not very almondy. I see Dr. Cywes has a strong argument from authority 'cause everyone below immediately starts slamming BD almond milk without even taking a minute of their own time to investigate if this is true. I don't know, but I can't find anything to prove what he says about HFCS & Canola/Soy oil. My wife drinks this product and if anyone has a respectable link that proves what Dr. Cywes is saying, please share it? Obviously, if this has HFCS and processed oils in it, I wouldn't want her to drink it. Don't get me wrong. I love this guy, and if I see Dr. Cywes is right, I will remove this post.

Almond orchards are extraordinarily thirsty. It is an unsustainable crop. Shameful waste of increasingly scarce water in California"s San Joaquin Valley. Agree it would be better for people and the planet to return those orchards to grassy fields where cows, chickens, and pigs could grow and provide healthy food for humans.

My son drinks baby formula. There are some milk products in there but more than 50% is sugars (incl. lactose). I am thinking about buying a goat. There is no fresh milk for sale here. The only 'milk' for sale here are 'milk drink' powders, but it's all similar to the baby formula (>50% sugars). There is a supermarket that sells something that looks like milk in a milk carton. You can store it for a long time uncooled. And I live in the tropics. That cannot be anything even remotely resembling milk. I'm not convinced my son needs milk, but my wife thinks that he needs something that has the word milk on the label of the box.

Lactose occurs naturally in milk, even raw milk. If your wife breastfed then your child would be getting her immune boosters, proteins and fats needed gor grain growth and development. You can't feed an infant water or fruit juice and expect healthy growth and development.

These condescending and alarmist clickbate videos, though food for thought, do not help in finding solutions for people with intolerances and allergies.
