It is true that this is only live video footage, but I still prefer the sound of the older studio mix (they made a new version for an anniversary tour. I probably got used to it. I recommend "Chasing the Dragon"from Retrospect or a lovely ballad called "Once Upon a Nightmare", which was apparently inspired by a story that was retold by Goethe.

I love this song, it really resonates with me being a Freemason. It reminds me that our creator binds us all together and we as individuals divide us. As a Mason it is my work to bring unity to all mankind. Work I shall do until the tools of masonry fall from my dead hands and I stand before my creator naked and alone to receive my reward.

It’s great seeing you discover symphonic metal for the first time. It was like a revelation to me as well a few years ago. Are you ready for Dimmu Borgir - Gateways- live? Think you might like that.
@cancelled_user3 жыл бұрын
Travis, you wanna do more symphonic sound? Good luck with that! It's a challenge :) If you don't wanna sound just like hundred other pseudo-symphonic bands who only add some piano or strings to metal and call themselves symphonic. A true symphonic metal with string instruments, woodwinds, brass and percussions, that's a different story.

That would HAVE to be the END of the show. Because where would they pull in the energy from? They're roaring about Quantum, science, souls, chakrahs, God...What could follow that? This is brain frizzing!

But they ALWAYS end the shows with Consign to Oblivion! Can you imagine a show with this song not being the last one and Consign to Oblivion following? Too much epic.

@@ginne7268 I heard it twice in the past and didn't like it. Rap is not music, just rhythmic talking, which just spoils the real music, especially music like symphonic metal. And the whole culture surrounding rap is very low-class. They did it only and only to find some new fans among non-metal listeners. But they also lost some fans like myself. Metalheads certainly don't miss rap in their favourite songs.
